This week: Busch may be NASCAR's most controversial driver right now. He may also be the best as he heads to Darlington, where he has only one top-10 finish in three tries. That came in 2006, when he was seventh. His other two finishes were 23rd in 2005 and 37th last year. "It's great to be back on top of the point standings," Busch said. "We were there earlier this year and kind of fell back a little bit. We've had some great runs. We've had some strong runs. We've had some good cars. And so, fortunately, we were able to capitalize on those most of this year, and hopefully we can keep doing that throughout the year. With the new facility, the new race track and the new paving job (at Darlington), hopefully we can have a great run out there to keep our momentum going. It's been good and hopefully it keeps going that way."
Last week: Busch became NASCAR's "Public Enemy No. 1" when he knocked race-leader Dale Earnhardt, Jr. out of the way with three laps to go at Richmond. Earnhardt crashed and many fans made an obscene gesture at Busch, who finished second. Afterward, he made light of the fans' anger. "They (the fans) were going crazy and you see it, but you don't pay attention to it," Busch said. "I don't know why they were telling me I was number one; I was in second place. Clint Bowyer got the lead from me -- they were all confused, I guess, too many old Junior Budweisers."
Etc.: Busch will be racing a special Indiana Jones-themed No. 18 M&M'S Toyota this weekend to help kick off the release of the new film, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
