May 14 Kenseth won the All-Star Race in 2004. He said he likes the All-Star race because it involves the crew so much. "There's the pit crew competition (on Thursday night) and then they do a pit stop during qualifying, so they have a lot to do with (your) qualifying position, and they have some green-flag stops in the race," he said. "So it really focuses on the team a lot, and I really like that."
Kenseth was sixth at Darlington. "We've been running so terrible and having such bad luck, so I was happy with our finish," said Kenseth, who had four finishes of 30th or worse in the previous five races. "We ran pretty good. We had it really good that last run." Kenseth jumped two spots in the standings to 20th.
Crew chief Chip Bolin said the All-Star event "means a lot to everybody on the team. The race allows us a chance to go out, no holds barred and run against the best, without worrying about points. It allows the entire team to go out and shine."
