This week: McMurray finished third a year ago at Homestead for his third top-10 finish in seven starts at the track. "Homestead is a speedway that Roush Fenway has had a lot of success at, and it would be great to finish this year on a high note," said McMurray, who will be leaving the organization after the race since his team is being closed down.
Last week: Despite being involved in a multi-car accident early in the race, McMurray was able to finish 19th at Phoenix. "We had pit strategy play out in our favor today," said McMurray. "We just seemed to be loose for the majority of the race, and that made it tough for me to fight for position. Our team had some great stops on pit road that allowed us to gain positions."
Etc.: Steve Lauletta, president of Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, said the team has agreed to terms with the new driver of the 1 team "and we hope to make the announcement this week." Although Lauletta would not confirm it, McMurray is expected to be that driver.
