This week: Bowyer finished fourth in his Indy debut in 2006 and was 13th a year ago. Bowyer said the speedway is "so different than anywhere else we go. It's completely flat. You haul the mail there. You're flying in the corners. You drive around there in a street car at 80 or 90 miles per hour and you think, 'I'm going to get in this corner going about 210 and there ain't no way I'm going to make it.' That's exactly what I thought the first time I was there."
Last race: Bowyer struggled all weekend at Chicagoland and finished 22nd to drop from 10th to 13th in the standings.
Etc.: Bowyer admits he is quite frustrated by the performance of his team in recent weeks. "The last month or month and a half for us in the Cup cars, it's just uncharacteristic of us (to struggle week in and week out)," said Bowyer. "I think this is really the first time that we've actually (struggled) as a team. ... I've got 100 percent confidence in those guys that they're going to be able to find it."
