U.S. Formula One wants Kyle Busch

“KyleThe United States Formula 1 team doesn't have its first race till next April in Bahrain but the team would apparently really love to have NASCAR driver Kyle Busch behind the wheel, according to USA Today.

The 24-year-old Busch recently excited the folks in Formula 1 by saying that he wouldn't immediately say no to Formula One. His idea is that he'd win a championship in NASCAR in the next few years and then take a few years in Formula One. And there's no reason to think he won't. After all, the guy has won 58 races in NASCAR: 16 wins in the Sprint Cup, 28 in Nationwide, 14 in Camping World Trucks.

Still, the guy's contract with Joe Gibbs Racing doesn't run out till the end of next season and there's really no reason to think he's going to skip out to F1 just yet. But the U.S. team will certainly do everything it can to convince Busch.

How to humble Kyle in one easy lesson - put him in a Formula I car. Even the slowest drivers there came up thru the ranks of Formula Ford, F3, etc. - lightweight cars that handle like a go-kart on steroids & run only road courses, which are unlike any track in the U.S. Kyle has -0- experience in anything even remotely like F1 & all the talent in the world isn't enough.
Just look @ the current F1 champ - in his 10th season in F1. He started racing go-karts when was 8 years old (won all 34 races in 1991), won the Formula Ford Championship & won in F3 before jumping to F1 - all he's ever done is drive lightweight, super-sharp handling cars. Kyle jumping over would be like expecting a Greyhound Bus driver to win a race in a Corvette.

What's up with F-1? Do they need someone to school their drivers on how to be a prick who would wreck his own mother (or brother) to win a race? Send him over there and void his passport so he can't come back!

Sounds like a good way to become irrelevent, considering that Formula 1 is not very popular in the U.S.

Let's see, more money; he's young; see the world; more money... why not. Maybe when he gets back to NASCAR, the car will have improved and Johnson will have retired after 8 titles.

Jake gets it! The driver for the new US team will represent America worldwide. Is a NASCAR driver really who we want as our international ambassador? As Jake said, a NASCAR driver doesn't have much chance of winning. It may come as a surprise to some, but F1 is a huge motorsport everywhere else in the world and there is little interest in or respect for redneck racing except in some parts of the US. KB would not have the prestige or name recognition in F1 that he does in NASCAR. I hope they find a talented, type-experienced, and sophisticated driver to be our representative.

#9, you get it too, and even better! If they are going to send a NASCAR driver to represent America, there could be NO ONE WORSE to send than Crybaby Kyle! Send JPM back or maybe slammin' Sammy Hornish!

No one worse? Really? I guess winning 58 races in his current racing series of choice, not to mention multiple late model wins not counted in the NASCAR total must be pretty terrible then... I am in no way saying that I think he would excel at F1 or that he would even *like* it once he tries it, but I believe he could adapt if that's what he decides he wants to do. As far as his attitude, we typically only see what the media wants us to see, which is Kyle at his ultra-competitive worst (which, I might add, he himself has recognized and is working on this - reference the interview he did with Marty Smith earlier this season).
What we don't see often is what goes on behind the scenes: him buying his entire team (shop and pit) lunch after a win, him giving opportunities to younger drivers by way of subbing for him in his truck or by way of his late model team, the time he spends (and enjoys) with the children his foundation supports, the tickets he gives to those kids to bring them to his races, and just this past weekend, him personally (face to face) honoring an 11 year old girl with a very special gift who took it upon herself to organize a book drive for his foundation. Believe it or not, Kyle really is a good guy...

I’m a long time Jr. fan but for people to say they hope kb leaves is crazy, the great thing about NASCAR is the drama and kb brings it. for one thing it makes rooting for jr that much more fun. and the idea that kb cant make it in f1 that’s just f1 fan talking because the last thing they want to see is a talented nascar driver coming over because we know that there is no better race car driver than a driver in nascar, and given a good car in f1 it would take no time in schooling and dominating f1

all you knuckleheads need to do is listen to what Ryan Newman had to say after his fiasco in todays race. The drivers don't control the race any longer, nascrap does. It sucks and it's unwatchable. And you clowns want Kyle to leave ?? Get real, he's one of the best drivers in nascar, he brings excitement to the race. He's not like most of the other nascrap ass kissing robots, he's there to win. sober up you dumb rednecks !!!!!
