Things are rough all over when it comes to the economy and it appears that Richard Childress Racing is feeling it.
Driver Kevin Harvick's contract comes due at the end of next year and looks like the team is fully expecting to lose him, according to SceneDaily. "We're using these last races to get prepared for 2010. We know we have to be better," owner Richard Childress said.
But one of those plans may be to lose car No. 7 due to a lack of sponsorship since Jack Daniel's doesn't want to be that involved in NASCAR at this point. This leaves driver Casey Mears without a sponsor for next season. "Right now we're meeting with companies. We've had several meetings," Childress said. "We've got interest in it. We're wanting to run it." The car apparently has some sponsorship for some races next year but not enough to run the full schedule.

Let me know how the Coke 600 ends in Charlotte with V6 front wheel drive stock, "grocery getters." I'll be asleep after 7 hours.
That would be good for Dodge though. A stock Charger R/T would own a front-drive Fusion and Impala.
Maybe you are right though. They would have to shorten races because of time constraints or start the races at 7:30 AM.
Like Harry said in Days of Thunder, "There ain't nothin', "Stock," about a stock car!"
