NASCAR - Sports Rumors

“JamieJamie McMurray may currently be in 25th place in the Sprint Cup Series but the word is that he may be first on the list for Earnhardt Racing right about now, according to Jayski.com.

McMurray is supposedly close to signing a deal that would have him driving the No. 1 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevy next year. The 33-year-old currently drives for Roush Fenway Racing, driving the No. 26 Crown Royal/Irwin Industrial Tools Ford, and has had six top-10 finishes over the years.

McMurray is probably best remembered for winning the 2002 UAW-GM Quality 500 as a substitute driver in his second Winston Cup start.

McMurray is yet another driver who's better than his finishes. Definitely not championship material, but at least there's some potential.

Smart move for both sides. McMurray is biggest name out there, and will give EGR another experienced hand to help JPM next season. Wondering if Bass Pro Shops is still on board, or if they need a new sponsor?

It doesnt matter who they pick up to put in that car.DEI will never win a championship until junior buys them out for penny's since they wouldnt sell it to him for dollars. Now the poor winch is going broke. But you watch that poor old washed up JR. that you haters dont like is going to someday take over DEI and bring the company back to the dominant days of the old man!

If only the top 12 are in the chase for the cup,why do they start 43 cars? the other drivers are just there for a show, their points don't really count for anything. If only the top 12 started there wouldn't be so many wrecks and that would save the teams alot of money and the ones that are not in the top 12 can start building cars for next year.
