This week: Earnhardt, 249 points back, has never won at Lowe's, where he has five top-five and nine top-10 finishes in 18 starts. He was 19th in this race last year and fifth in this year's 600.
Last week: Earnhardt finished 28th after he was taken out in a crash at Talladega. "We were running up front there whenever we could trying to get those fans on their feet because they bought a lot of tickets here," Earnhardt said. "We didn't have the luck today. There wasn't much I could have done to try to avoid that. I want to thank my team for working really hard this weekend. We tore up an awful lot of stuff. It was just tough, man. I thought we would have had a better day than that."
Etc.: Earnhardt said he is taking a different approach to sponsors in both Cup and Nationwide in this difficult economic time. "You are more cognizant of what they are getting out of the deal," Earnhardt explained. "You might ask them a few more times, more often, where they are at and how happy they are, what would they like different. When you know how difficult it is for them to work that in their budget, a sponsorship for a motorsports racing team, you definitely want to cater to them a little bit more and make sure they are getting everything they want because you want them to come back the next year. A lot of the deals in the Nationwide series are getting shorter and shorter as far as the length of the term."
