Kyle Petty suffers broken hand at Watkins Glen
LEVEL CROSS, North Carolina (Ticker)—Kyle Petty suffered a broken hand this past weekend at Watkins Glen International, Petty Enterprises announced Monday.
Petty suffered the injury during a caution period in Sunday’s NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Centurion Boats at The Glen. The veteran hit the butt of his hand on a door inside his hauler during a caution period.
Petty was treated in the infield care center at the 2.45-mile road course and flew home to North Carolina on Monday to receive medical treatment.
The team did not announce whether Petty would start next Sunday in the Nextel Cup 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
