Handing Out Some Thanksgiving Dishes

  • Print

First of all, this will be short as I am sure you all have better things to do today than listen to what’s on my mind and read what is sure to be the lamest Thanksgiving Day blog of the season.

Second of all, what the heck are you doing reading this on the best holiday of the year?

Third, I apologize in advance for talking about something as trivial as sports on a day like this.

Fourth, here goes: We here at the Pedley house like to have lots of small dishes on Thanksgiving. They all contribute to a great looking full plate. But we have enough to give some out so …

The gravy: It goes to Jimmie Johnson. Yeah, right, like he needs more. His whole season has been gravy.

The stuffing: It goes to Joey Logano. Eat, eat, you’re all skin and bones.

The carrots: They go to NASCAR officials who don’t really need them as they already have eyesight sufficient to see debris on the track which nobody else can see.

The green beans: They go to Mark Martin. Lots of fiber.

The corn: It goes to television racing announcers as they can never get enough corn but don’t we love them.

The bread: It goes out to Robby Gordon, John Andretti and the rest of the have-not teams and drivers as they need the dough the most.

The desert: To race fans. Sweet.

The turkey: It goes to anyone still reading this. Go eat.

The thanks: To Jim H. down in Daytona. Thinking of you today.
