Greg Biffle Rebounded nicely from poor finish at Daytona by running 11th in Sunday's USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway; remained 11th in the Nextel Cup standings with 2,172 points, 47 outside of the top 10; registered seven straight top-10 finishes from May 6-June 25; defending series runner-up captured his first victory of the season at the Dodge Charger 500 at Darlington Raceway on May 13; struggled over the first nine races this season, registering just two top-10 finishes; ran fifth in this race last season and has three top-10 finishes in seven starts at this track.
Matt Kenseth Appeared primed to win at Chicagoland before getting bumped by Jeff Gordon with four laps remaining en route to a 22nd-place finish; remained second in the standings but fell 51 points off Johnson's pace; placed fifth at Daytona; after three straight top-five finishes from May 28-June 11, ran 13th and 17th the next two weeks; leads the circuit with 10 top-10 finishes; struggled to a 24th-place finish at Martinsville after crashing on a restart in the 493rd lap; appeared primed for a victory at Bristol before being bumped by Kurt Busch in lap 495 and fading to third; placed 10th in this event last season.
Kyle Busch Ran third at Chicagoland and remained eighth in the standings with 2,265 points; was runner-up to Tony Stewart at Daytona to climb a whopping four spots; placed 11th at California; bounced back nicely from disappointing 38th-place finish at Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte by placing fifth at Dover; ran seventh at Darlington to register his second consecutive top-10 finish; has six top-five finishes and nine top-10s; finished inside the top 12 in five straight races from February 26-April 2; reigning Raybestos Rookie of the Year placed fourth in this race last season.
Denny Hamlin Finished 14th at Chicagoland and fell to 12th in the standings with 2,169 points, 50 behind Gordon; has run inside the top 10 in five of his last 10 races; leads Clint Bowyer for first place in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings; won his first Nextel Race earlier this year at Pocono; was runner-up to Earnhardt at Richmond and won the season-opening Budweiser Shootout, a non-points event; won the Telcel Motorola Mexico 200, a Busch Series road-course race, on March 5 in Mexico City.
Jeff Burton Veteran driver continues to quietly move his way up the standings with consistent performances; ran second from the pole last week at Chicagoland, his best finish of the season; climbed three spots to fourth in the standings with 2,327 points, 324 behind leader Jimmie Johnson; finished seventh at California and has finished inside the top 10 in nine of his last 12 starts, including a fourth-place finish at Dover on June 4; also ran fourth at Talladega on May 1; placed 14th in this event last season but has fared well here, capturing four checkered flags, seven top-five finishes and nine top-10s in 22 starts.
