This week: Ragan finished 27th in his Cup debut at Darlington a year ago. Ragan hopes that the new pavement and new tire does not mean a repeat of what happened when Charlotte and Las Vegas got repaved "with Goodyear bringing a real hard tire that's tough for us to get a handle on and we kind of struggle throughout the weekend. Hopefully it's kind of like the old Darlington."
Last week: Ragan finished 17th at Richmond to move up one spot in the standings to 14th. "It certainly could have been a lot worse (after being involved in an early wreck), but it could have been a lot better," said Ragan. "We were pretty good there at the end, but we needed to have about 50 to 75 more laps and maybe we could have gotten a little better finish."
Etc.: Ragan is only 56 points out of the top 12, and he is convinced he has a real chance to make the Chase for the Championship in only his second year of Sprint Cup racing. "I think a lot of people have a chance of making the Chase," said Ragan. "It's just a matter of what we do with our chance. We've got to continue to perform like we have."
