This week: Vickers has two top-10 finishes in his last three starts at Lowe's. In the spring, Vickers led four times for 61 laps before a cut tire sent him hard into the first-turn wall to end his day just before the halfway point. "We had a great car for the 600, and I expect we will have another one this weekend," said Vickers.
Last week: "I felt a bomb explode in my right front tire," Vickers said after his blown tire triggered an eight-car accident that left Vickers in 35th place. "We led a lot of laps today and we had a car that could run up front all day. I am just so proud of the Red Bull effort and all the guys back at the shop for putting together such a great car. It (the tire) didn't cut or go flat -- it exploded."
Etc.: Vickers trails David Ragan by 371 points with only six races left, so he knows his hopes of finishing 13th are all but over. But he believes the team can still achieve its No. 1 goal for the year -- win a race. "We've had some great cars this year. We just need a little racing luck and we can win one," said Vickers.
