This week: McMurray will race in the Nationwide Series event at Gateway International Raceway outside of St. Louis on Saturday. The following day, he will compete in a go-kart race in Indiana.
Last week: McMurray rallied from an unscheduled pit stop for a cut right rear tire to finish 21st at Chicagoland. "Our Ford Fusion was very fast," McMurray said. "Had we not cut a tire so early in the race or had we gotten our lap back earlier, we really had a car strong enough to finish in the top 10 at least."
Etc.: McMurray said he knows he could have taken the week off like most of his fellow drivers, but he is looking forward to racing near his hometown of Joplin, Mo. "I think it's been six years since I've raced there (at Gateway)," he said. "Then to be able to race my go-kart on Sunday is really going to be a lot of fun."
