This week: Hamlin has raced twice at Darlington and has run well both times. He was second last year and 10th in 2006.
Last week: Hamlin led 381 of the 400 laps at Richmond before his right-front tire went flat. He finished a disappointing 24th. "It ain't been very good," Hamlin said of the last few days. "Just trying to get back in the swing of things. It's good to be back at a race track anyway because we had to sit around at the house all day and watch highlights and all that. ... It was almost non-reality that we ran like we did for all that race. You don't say that you predict something like that will happen, but it's just a situation where it doesn't surprise you when something like that does happen because in the past when guys have cars like that they usually don't win because something happens at the end. It's not something with our team, but it's just in the past with our team we've had dominant cars, and been dominating races, and just not finished them. I feel like right now over the last couple of years, we could have as many wins as anyone right now -- just didn't have that luck at the end that we needed, and we didn't have it again on Saturday night."
Etc.: Hamlin tried to explain his noticeable limp when he showed up for testing at Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier this week -- he fell while playing basketball. "I'd like to say I was going up for a dunk, but I think everyone would know that ain't true," Hamlin said of his basketball injury. "I don't know. When I went up, the person was lower than I was and I kind of clipped over his shoulder. I was horizontal to the ground and that was bad on the way down."
