Congratulations to Ryan Newman, winner of the 50th Daytona 500. Newman ran a hell of a race all the way, slotting right in behind Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch and getting the right line to lead at precisely the right time.
There will be plenty of questions tomorrow, chief among them why Dale Junior didn't pit when he had the opportunities, but for now, we can say that this may not have been the best Daytona ever, but it was, as always, a great finish.
Tune in to Y! Sports on Wednesday for Newman's column. You think he'll talk about this? I do.
(PS Yes, I changed the headline from "Hello, Newman." Sue me; I was on deadline.)

With 16 laps to go, then in a blink of an eye, he is way back. His car may have had a problem, or is it maybe Juan?.. his car seemed to me was capable of winning the race.

Kurt Busch kept shooting himself in the foot all day long but it was clear he had a strong car. Don't let his comments fool you. He was able to race through the field time & again.
