From the Marbles - NASCAR

It's Thanksgiving, and we're thankful for many things around here -- turkey-induced naps, weekday football, and intelligent fellow bloggers. Biting off our buddy 'Duk's post over at Big League Stew, we've created a space for you to offer up what you're thankful for in NASCAR. Tailgates? The smell of oil in the morning? Catastrophic wrecks where everyone walks away? Whatever you're thankful for, here's your chance to let the world know.

Here's how this works. You can comment in the comment box below, though that's moderated and your post won't appear instantly. Or you can go through Twitter and post your thanks with the hashtag #marblesthanks, and they'll show up below.

Have a happy and safe holiday, and we'll see you right back here soon!

Thankful that Jimmie came thru (which there was no doubt to his fans) and got his 4. Thankful that all the drivers came out of this season safe (except for a few bruised egos).

Thanks DS, Have a Happy Thanksgiving yourself.
Happy Thanksgiving to the Jays and all the Marbleheads up in the cushion. Watch out for Sideways Sammy Hornish I hear he's ridden the high line heading for the wall again.
I'm thankful to Yahoo who took the chance on hiring some goofy guy in retro sunglasses with a wacky sense of humor who created a site that became home to many of us. Through the past two years I have meet a few people that I would be proud to call friends and some that I would be scared to let small children or animals around. (Gator, I'm talking about you dude. lol) So thank you Mr. Busbee for all you do, and try to ignore those 3000-4000 comments that called you an idiot the other day, they know not what they say. ( Buncha Grinches ) Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful that "miss priss" and I will be sharing our first Thanksgiving together in our brand new cabin located in the hills of Kentucky, where she promised to make me the best turkey sandwich ever.
    Thanks sweetie.
I’m also thankful for all my new hillbilly redneck friends from this blog.
    Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

Well, I am thankful that this dreadful season is finally over, other than that, Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone, thankful we do have a place to come rant and rave, even stir feathers, thankful for the many friends made here, even made a few enemies, but cant win them all, folks its just a car race when all is said and done, we all need to lighten up, hell, when Kyle wins the championship next year, will fly my good friends out to Vegas to celebrate, even if ya dont like Kyle, we can gamble, lol

I'm thankful that the season is over! Maybe Brian France, Mike Helton, and the track owners can get the heads out of their asses for 2010 and give the fans what they want

whoa whoa whoa NY, hahahahahaha, Kentucky my foot. You need to travel just little bit futher south for me. LMAO
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!! May we for one day NOT dwell on the negativity in our life but whether to reflect on all the goodness that surrounds us and BE THANKFUL FOR IT. I personally have to say that I have met some really cool people here. We may not hang out nearly as much as we used to but that doesn't mean I wouldn't (like KG said) consider calling them my friend. Then there are those that well........ (need to just be forgotten), Keep it safe out there where ever you may be. Looks like I'll be having some leftover turkey sandwiches with someone. lol

Well, my comments never showed above, so I'll say HAPPY tHANKSGIVING TO ALL THE MARBLEHEADS! Thanks for all our service men, with special thanks for those serving in other countries, who will not be able to spend their holidays with their families. Thanks for our second and third chances in life and for those who hang by us when we go astray.
Well, my comments just showed up. Happy thanksgiving to all of you. You all make my NASCAR seasons so much more exciting. I'll still be looking for you guys on a daily basis, right thru the off season.
    Have a fantastic day!

I am just glsd its over. I hope the media will let NASCAR sleep for a couple of months. I can remember back in the 90's when we couldn't find enough NASCAR stuff to watch. We were watching stuff on Sports South with Eli Gold on thursday night to get our NASCAR fix. Now I feel like I have been overdosed with it. When you know what kind of dog Harvick has or what Jimmie (still spelled like a girl) Johnson's wife's favorite color is, then maybe it overload. Sleep well NASCAR, with any luck, it won't wake up. There has got to be something more interesting to put on TV for 5 or 6 hours on sunday.

    My NASCAR Thanksgiving thankfulness thanks....LOL
The sound, the smell, the feeling you get when they come off the corner and head down the front stretch. You know that little twich in your stomach....when they come off the curb at Daytona for the 1st time in the season....you get all giddy with excitment....its a new season and everything seems possible.
Sound???...........I remember that sound the motors would make....it just does not seem the same.....I have tapes from years ago....I know, you say "A VHS tape?" people still use those?".....yep.....hell I have the race Dale Jr. won at Daytona couple of months after loosing his dad....you know when him and Micheal Waltrip got on the hood and celebrated down on the green???.....I still tear up a little.....but I watch those old race....LOVED the sound of those cars
do you know what I am talking about?????
I am thankful that I have a job.....I am thankful for my kid.......AND I am thankful I have some place to come to meet and talk to other NASCAR fans.....thou at times we fight.....say mean things about each other's drivers....it feels good to argue with someone who appreciates NASCAR as mush as I do.....I have become with friends with several of y'all.....have NASCAR fans from ALL over America.....several (I think 3) Texans.....Several Cali folks.....One wise Cajun Princess (LOL)......one from Tucky (miss you Jim T).....OH....cannot forget about our over the pond NASCAR brother, Art.....and SO many other places.....it has been nice getting to know you.....rattleing your cages.....and you doing the same....BUT I am most thankful for the GREATEST BLOGMONKEY ever to step foot on this earth.....Jay Busbee your are the BEST....and I want to say THANKS for making From The Marbles......you have created a phnemon that will never be duplicated....and in the wise words of our texan brother (Farmer)....BUSBEE IS ON FIRE!!!!
just a note....I sure do miss talking to y'all like we use to....but I understand everyone is busy....but I have nostalgia for the past!
Hope everyone had a great Turkey day!.....Christmas is just around the corner.....let the shopping frenzie begin!

I just want to say a late thank you to the folks here on the Marbles. I lurked for awhile then was encouraged to join in. I stay away for extended periods of time and am still welcomed back warmly. If I make a rude comment or a feeble attempt at joke I'm not treated to harshly. I still lurk from time to time just checking in to see who's around and sometimes even comment, join in or just hit and run. But I know I have someplace I can come to and it doesn't matter who I am out in the real world because here I'm a MARBLE HEAD! and I'm among friends.
