From the Marbles - NASCAR

Yes, Jimmie Johnson won again. No, nobody outside of the 48's fans is happy about it. But deal with it. We'll be talking more about this in the next day or so, but for now, just accept the fact that Johnson is wheeling better than anybody else in NASCAR right now, and it's going to take a real catastrophe (Talladega?) to derail his dead-bang march for Title No. 4. Here, check out how he works over the field in the final laps of Saturday night's race:

It's fine work by Johnson, and it's going to take a serious charge from someone to even make it interesting over the next few weeks. Tony Stewart, Mark Martin or Jeff Gordon could do it, of course, but will they?

During a commercial break of the Alabama game, I flipped to the race. Even with the broadcast cover-up, it was quite apparent that the stands were pretty empty. Charlotte is the home of Nascar? When the football game ended, I caught the final laps of JJ's victory. Thank God for the excitement of college football! The snoozefest that passes for Nascar is sad to watch....I turned to football highlights with 2 laps to go.

Why does Nascar turn a blind eye to racings biggest cheaters. The 48 team has been cutting cornes and doing other things that any other driver and their team would have been penalized for. I'v been a nascar fan for thirty six years and have never been more let down by nascar than i have this year. Well if makes the 48 team happy to know they cheated to win this championship this year I hope they can be happy with there selves. I hate it for the rest of the Hendicks drivers because it makes them look bad to. After 36 years of being a fan I'm through. I just hope every other nascar fan can see whats happening right in front of them.

jimmy c- I must have missed the cheating this year by the 48 team. Can you point that out for me. I understand your frustration but you don't have to make stuff up. Could it be possible that the 48 team is just better than everybody else right now? I think so.
Yellowhammer- I think I figured it out. Your a football fan not a Nascar fan.

my guess is we'll be seeing Jimmie at the back of the pack at 'Dega like last year, losing the draft, playing it safe, and taking home a fourth consecutive championship at Homestead; although folks complain that 500 mile races are too long, they're apparently the perfect length to cast a shadow of doubt over whether the 48 car will win or not. I can't believe I actually allowed myself to think for one brief second that he might not take home the checkered. And btw, MarkN, are you the big Blaney fan? Whoever is, major props after Blaney's solid running in the Nationwide race.

    Jimmy
    I guess that Richard Petty,David Pearson,Bobby Allison,Darell Waltrip,Cale Yarbourough,Jeff Gordon,Dale Earnhart,Rusty Wallace,Lee Petty,Ned Jarrett,Junior Johnson,Herb Thomas and Buck Baker must all have cheated
because they all have more wins than Jimmy.

Anyone that keeps winning title after title how can you not get bored of that if your not a fan of theirs. Why do you think so many people hated the Patriots or the Cowboys or Yankees or Lakers you can go down the list.

#11 your right but that doesn't mean they are cheating. Both Roush and RCR have admitted that they dropped the ball this season.

I'll tell ya I'm sick of seeing "the driver formally know as The Pinball Wizard", Kyle Busch, winning in the Nationwide series. Where are all the Toyota bashers from last year? Oh that's right...they already penalized the #18 team with a smaller restrictor plate. Nothing left to whine about. Maybe the kid, and his team, are just better then everybody else on the track...just like Jimmie Johnson. Give these guys credit for being the best at what they do, that is the point of competition...isn't it?
MarkN--- Congrats on your boy running with the big dogs Friday. It shows guys like Blaney and Bliss have the talent when they can get a car dialed in to compete. Now if we can just get Stevie "Wonder" Wallace up front to do something about Kyle we'd be in for some good racing.

MarkN-I know every driver has a following, no matter how small or big they all raced on local tracks and built fan bases that way.
I dont think their cheating anymore then any big team, but it doesnt make it any fun, only saving grace is it cant last forever I guess. One thing about Jimmy you can never say he was an exciting Champion.

KG-Blaney proved you get a good car and have some half decent skills you get good performances and if you have horrible cars you get performances like Dave has in SC this year,Jimmie isnt the best driver in the Sport he's got the best supporting cast, you cant convince me he would have dominated in the 70's, 80's or even the early 90's.

packard- what do you suggest the 48 do? Sit out a season so somebody else can win? I'm sure Mark Martin fans have enjoyed this season as well as Tony Stewart fans. Of course Jr and Edwards fans can't wait for it to be over with. What do you think is Edwards problem this year? I blame it on marriage. Thats the only thing I see that he changed from last year. I have heard that wedding cake makes some women lose their sex drive and slows men down. I can see that being a problem (slowing down) for a race car driver. What do you think?

Packerd Joe hasn't even finished in the top 10 this year with that car. I wouldn't call that a good car. We can only guess what Dave could or couldn't have done this year when he has to park the car in 10 laps.
Packerd when has a driver done good without a good supporting cast? Doesn't Carl have the same team as last year like Jimmy?

Packerd you might be right to say Jimmy wouldn't have dominated in 70's,80's but you could say that about any driver no one knows it's all an opinion. You could also say that those guys from the 70's and 80's couldn't dominate at this time.Right now his team is the best in the sport until someone beats him like it or not.

well of course johnsons fans love whats goin on,its to bad knaus is the biggest cheater in sports. if he couldnt cheat he would most likely take his car and go home. he got busted at daytona, again warned recently , whats it gonna take ? cheating is a mortal sin in any sport , and knaus has them all covered ! why isnt gordon , martin , junior , taking advantage of the situation ? they are racers thats why ! if johnson wants recognition he needs to quit saying i only drive the car, any one of the top ten drivers in the cup series could be winning like johnson if their crew chiefs cheated like knaus . hendrick lost all his morals , and knaus & johnson have none .

I quit watching F1 because Schumacher won every race, every championship
I will quit watching NASCAR because JJ keeps winning even with the "Chase to the Race" crap dreamed up by some staffer in French's office.
Now what am I going to watch? Cycling? At least with Lance out of retirement there is a bit if excitement.
