From the Marbles - NASCAR

Here's a nice little find from the 2007 Aaron's 499 driver's meeting. Pay close attention to what NASCAR prez Mike Helton said about bump-drafting back then:

So the lesson, then, is simple. NASCAR's attitude toward its rules is like London's weather -- if you don't like it, wait a half hour and it'll change.

(Thanks to reader Dan in NJ for the find.)

Sounds like Jeff and Mike are planning on a future career in politics. "I didn't really say what you think you heard. Just listen to what I say today, that's all that should matter. And if I say something different in the future I didn't really mean what I said in the past."

I don't think that schwilling has ever listened to a politician. KG, what are you running for? Of course, I'm not registered in your county, but some of it spills over! If anyone ever wants to hear a real politician...

Go Chargers - That's funny, because it reminds me of a time, quite a few years ago that I almost got kicked of a golf course. I took one of my sis-in-laws with me and while on the putting green, she took of in my cart. Needless to say, we had a hard time catching her, and the starter told me if it ever happened again, don't come back. I was po'd that day, but I still laugh about it to this day!

Article on Yahoo had the lead in "Change the Chase format and it wouldn't make any difference" for GG winning. The only bigger idiots than sports writers are left wing nut job librool biased posing as cough, cough, journalist.
Say we make the last 10 races all at Bristol? How would GG do th ere? He's oh for what? Bwahahahahaha.
Say we change the unwritten rules and apply them to Chevy, Hendrcik and Childers like the rest: When a team dominates ASSCAR giveth, ASSCAR taketh away. Yo can bet you'un ass if Ford starts to dominate with this new engine ASSCAR will taketh away.
Hope them stinkin yankee yankee fans are happy with the best team money can buy. Yeah, A-Fraud the drug using adulterer, Petite the dope user confessor finger pointer, Jeter the tax cheat and greed at it's finest in Sabathia and Texira are real Yankees. MLB let the Yankees break the salary cap for years. They built a money empire that only 1-2 other teams can compete and only a distant second. The yankees bought their title like they have since the 70's. Teams like Cleveland, Seattle, Tampa, Baltimore, Pittsuburg will never, ever win a title unless they get lucky through the draft or farm system. This is bull sheet at it's finest. Yankee yankee fans didn't even know who was going to be on their team a few weeks before spring ball. Bwahahahahahahahah. What a damned joke. Pro sports is a joke. Just like ASSCAR and Chevy.

A very simple point was bantered about on Choc's show, Trading Paint, NASCAR Radio on Sirius Radio -
    - With the old cars, you could not "bump draft" due to the nose of the car in the "behind position" being lower than the tail of the car in the "lead position" -
With all of the great improvements that NASCAR made with the COT (Car of Today), why did they not drop the nose down, in order to keep that postion in aligment? Quite simple - they missed it, "dang, should have seen it but we didn't, something we need to address in the off season, we will look at that and a few other things..." - but NOOOOOOO... The NASCAR ego is such that they could NEVER be wrong, NEVER miss a thing, and NEVER have caused a situation (note the Indy tire issue was all about Good-Year, as an example.
In the end, a small "fire" that could have been extinguished with a simple NASCAR "nod" to the situation, has become "I hate this sport and it died when Dale died..." - which is fan BS, to be coupled with the NASCAR BS, to make a big pile of steamy.... well, you get the picture..
Truth is - it was ONE RACE... two weeks ago, Jimmy was the ruin of NASCAR, now, it's Talledega... the real reason there are fewer people there is quite simple - CASH! If they had the money, their asses would be in the seats - without it... time to complain... now, less time in the blogs, more time looking for a good job.. fan issues fixed!
The NASCAR ego thing... that seems to be terminal.....
