From the Marbles - NASCAR

Sure, this is a NASCAR blog, but every so often we break out of our narrow provincialism and take a look at what else is going on in the world of motorsports. Big news from F1 is the final race of the 2009 season, a race that will take place at the brand-new Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi.

Featuring chicanes, desert sands and a route that runs beneath the Yas Hotel, this ain't no Pocono. Ride along on this virtual tour:

Not bad, not bad. What say we introduce Abu Dhabi to a little Talladega-style infield partying?

"A slip up on turn 7 would be most annoying.." The British talent for understatement. :-)

Yeap, you do such a FANTASTIC job of covering NASCAR, I'd shove a "5-sentence and a video" blog up... Don't look now... the F'ing Chase is going on!!!! ...you could show us the new dugout of a stadium in Japan, right in the middle of the World Series...

GG couldn't finish in the Top 16 in F1 unless there were only 15 cars running at the end. He wouldn't make a dimple on Schumachers butt.

Damn, I want that track for my F-1 Racing PC game or even Big Scale RC Racing! Ain't no way ANY NASCAR driver could race there without crashing at least twice a lap unless it was JR who would crash on every turn.

ok...i'll get grief for this, but i don't care....we should've leveled the middle east and made a GIANT free gas station (and, ok a race track) back in the early 90's, but does anybody listen to me? NO!!! send complaints to meatwad@getbent.com! lol!!!!

NASCAR had declared JJ the champ after the 3rd race of the year with MM and JG in order.
As far as my watching any more NASCAR races? NAW, I found it more exciting watching the squirrls run up and down the trees. At least I do not know who will wind up at the top first.
Wonder what NASCAR would do if NO ONE or only a FEW diehard fans watched the race on TV tomorrow? Maybe NASCAR might get the idea that they screwed up BIG TIME if their rateings drop.
Any Female fans in the central Florida want to help me wash and wax my RV tomorrow? Would be a lot more exciting that sitting in front of the boob tube knowing damned well who will win

Why can't they have all the world's main battle tanks in an F1 race? With live ammo after lap 10?

while i was watching this race i suddenly became clear to me where all the money for this track really came from. we Americans should enjoy this track to the fullest after all WE paid for it due to our dependancy on foreign oil. did you notice the size of the luxury boats in the marina? the cars they showed in the parking lot? to hell with these oil producing money grubbing people, this just makes me sick and i wont buy fuel for my car from so called American companies that get their oil from the middle east. the rest of the country should do the same what is your excuse for buying gas from foreign countries??
