Kyle Busch got dinged for $5,000 and 25 points, and put on probation until the end of the year, for violations related to his No. 18 Nationwide car. [The Fifth Turn]

• It's a good idea not to get too far behind when you're running at Phoenix, as the top three drivers in the Chase could tell you. [Scene Daily]

• Good news for some old racetracks, bad news for others. Here's hoping more are able to follow the example of Jeffco Speedway in Georgia and reopen, but most are facing the wrecking ball. [Racin' Today]

• All that downforce in the new Nationwide cars is going to make them a smoother ride than their Cup counterparts. Think that'll cause any controversy next year? Why, of course it will! [Scene Daily]

• Enough with the freakin' Jimmie Johnson conspiracies. The NASCAR Insiders, talkin' sense as always. [The NASCAR Insiders]

I think only the Crew Chief should be penalized/fined. I don't think any CC goes to the driver and owner and says, it's illegal but, I'm going to do this and that to the car.

It wasn't so much cheating but it was more of a safety violation.

wow FF91 made an appearance. Sorry I missed you.
Gibbs went thru this last year with the magnets. It's not like those 25 pts are going to make or break him nor the $5,000.00. So what is the big deal there. Yes it's a violation, let's just see how more they will accrue in the next couple of years.

Jack Roush has also been known to cheat. Like being docked 100 points and fined $30,000 after his #16 Nationwide car was caught cheating in October:
"Crew chief Eddie Pardue has been fined $30,000 for violating Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-J (Race equipment that has been previously sealed by NASCAR for use in an event) and sub-section 8-6 (Failure to submit the sealed engine from the race winner for inspection; removal of the seal from the winning engine without authorization from NASCAR) of the 2009 Nationwide Series rule book."

Jack Roush - caught cheating in Nationwide. Why does he need to cheat in the Nationwide series?
"Team owner Jack Roush was penalized with the loss of 100 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship owner points while driver Matt Kenseth also was docked 100 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship driver points. "

I think most people that watched NASCAR before this redicuolis chase realise it helps them manipulate the outcome of the chamionship this is raceing its who gets to the finishline first and does best over the season and not some lets work hard and produce all year to have it taken away and evened up at the end thats called a new season.Jeff Gordon would have a couple more championships and this year most likely would have gone to TONY STEWART,these guys work to hard to get the big leads they had to have them taken away I believe the old points gave it to the true CHAMP not som 10 race CHUMP!!!!!!!!!
