Daytona 500 Prediction Roundup

Predicting's easy after the race, so as the gentlemen start their engines, let's round up who's picking whom to win this afternoon.

Among our Yahoo! Sports experts, Ricky Craven selects Jimmie Johnson, "for the simple reason there's nobody better." Jerry Bonkowski picks Tony Stewart, claiming he'll "run away from the field" and win with 25 laps to go. Bob Margolis goes with Dale Earnhardt Jr., saying "not only will he win the race, but he'll win it convincingly."

In the dark horse category, Craven notes that Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr. could make a shocking run straight to victory lane. Bonkowski tabbed Mark Martin, Ryan Newman, and Michael Waltrip. And Margolis picks Juan Pablo Montoya and Bobby Labonte as potential long shots with the skills

Over at the other sites, Fox Sports is pretty much universally in Dale Jr.'s camp, with the exception of Jorge A. Mondaca, who picks Jeff Gordon. So is ESPN's Terry Blount, but his site-mate Matthew Willis goes with Gordon.

I'm going with Stewart. Toyota or no, I think Stewart's got the will and the car to upend the Hendrick trifecta. And now it's time to begin; if you've got predictions of your own, now would be the time to make 'em.

    Thanks NASCAR,I'll never watch another race,since you brought TOYOTA in,its all about the money,toyota sucks, FORD for LIFE.When these stupid people invest in toyota,they invest our money into JAPAN's economy.How many japs do you see drive an AMERICAN car,NONE.I guess they like to keep their money in JAPAN.All nascar is doing is advertising that toyota JUNK,JUST TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK.You won't get my dollar,or alot off pissed off people that I know. THANKS AGAIN NASCAR, you sellouts!

    Do you think it is possible for Fox to show more racing coverage in between all the commercials. I have been actually timing it.They show 4 minutes of racing and break for commercial .. give me a break the actual commercial time is longer than the race coverage.

    Well,Well,Well, Looks like the @ssholes at nascar let the japs in, Get those frickin toyota's out of nascar. I loved it when I blew the doors off of one of those toyota tundras with a 5.7 engine, I was in a F-150, A 1993 to boot and I used a bone stock 5.0, Thats right, Blew that Toyota 5.7 right off the road. Dale Jr, You will not win, Sorry Litle boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think it was a chicken@&%* move of Kyle Bucsh but that is racing. I think NASCAR needs to review there policy on what happens in each race. Sorry but I am a Jeff Burton fan and that is is where I stand on this issue. Come on NASCAR get it right for the fans!!!

    never thought a bunch of racist rednecks would ever learn to use a computer. who gives a crap what kinda car it is. maybe if american companys kept their plants in america and not in mexico or canada they might actually make a car worth a lick.

    What Happened "Juan Pablo Montoya"?.....You were second with 16 laps to go!, then green flag, then car 42 goes under?....Did you have a car problem?, or was it driver error?

    If anything should be removed from Nascar, it should be Juan P Montoya,,, He couldn't drive a clean race if he tried. What an idiot, he's running 2nd and he thinks to be first he's gotta take the no.1 car out!!! So what happens, he lost his draft and no one would go with him, bye-bye Juan, so the a$$ slid all the way back and that's what he deserved!!!!!!!!. Juan Pablo Montoya sucks,,,,,,,

    How is a NASCAR race fair, when there could be multiple driver teams compeating against teams with only one driver.
    Like the race this weekend when KB was bragging about helping his teammate win.
