Yahoo! Contributor NetworkUFC Middleweight Contender Chael Sonnen’s Top Five Most Hilarious Trash-Talking Quotes: A Fan’s View
According to a Heavy.com report, UFC president Dana White thinks middleweight contender Chael Sonnen is the best "trash-talker" in the fight game since Muhammad Ali.

"(I've never seen) even anywhere near him," White told HeavyMMA. "Seriously - and everybody's going to go crazy over this - but I've never seen anyone who can talk like this guy can since Muhammad Ali. Seriously. Since Muhammad Ali - the stuff that just comes right off the top of his head, and is hilarious. And you don't know what's real and what's not real." Here's a guide to Sonnen's top five most hilarious "trash-talking" moments since joining the UFC.
Post-fight UFC 117 Press Conference
Following a loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 117, Sonnen was asked if he had any apologies about his outlandish pre-fight trash-talking.
At the post-fight presser, he said "When I go off, it's like a bomb and anybody around me is going to get dirty. That's the way that it goes. I don't offer any apology for any of that stuff. These guys need to get thicker skin. Second off, everybody in the UFC should offer an apology- except me. You stick a microphone in a guys face and he calls out anybody but the champion and [UFC matchmaker] Joe Silva should fax him a pink slip right then."
UFC on Fox 2 Press Conference
Sonnen is set to square off against Mark Munoz on Jan. 28, but he's already looking ahead to another title shot against Anderson Silva.
At the pre-fight presser for UFC on Fox 2, he said Fox should be thanking him for appearing on their upcoming broadcast. "I think everyone up here is grateful to be on Fox," Sonnen said. They would probably say 'Fox thanks'. Everybody but me. I would say 'Fox, you're welcome.' You've been telling everybody for years you've got the American Idol, and now you finally do."
Feud With Ring Girl
In an interview with Las Vegas Weekly, Sonnen started a feud with UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste by saying that "We only had one [ring girl] and that was Chandella [Powell]. The other was the IQ card girl. Arianny [Celeste] kind of walks around and holds up her latest test score. One time when there was a title fight, she got all the way up to five and we were very proud of her."
On Losing to Anderson Silva
At the post-fight UFC 117 press conference, Sonnen acknowledged that he came in second place and was devastated by the loss to Silva. But shortly after, he took offense to Silva saying he wasn't 100% healthy during the fight.
Sonnen said "I should be the reigning champion. I punch a guy 300 times, he punches me a couple and they call him the champion? In what parallel universe does that make you the winner? I am the champion. I've been the champion. Anderson's ribs have the exact same problem that his hands and his feet have, they're attached to a cowardly person. For Anderson to say that he wasn't 100-percent, I completely believe him. Who cares? But yeah, do I think his ribs where hurt? Sure. Why would I think they weren't? He's the only one who could tell if they were hurt."
Dissing the "Pound-for-Pound' Rankings
There is no "pound-for-pound" weight class, but it's a phrase the media and fans like to throw around when trying to sort out who the best fighters in the world are even when they're in far different weight classes, making it difficult to compare.
When asked about the issue, Sonnen said "Hey guys, excuse me, but there's no such weight class as pound-for-pound. There's no such title. The pound-for-pound does not exist but just in this pretend world. Jose Aldo has made it all the way to number three? Really? The same guy that was anointed UFC champion. The same guy that was given the UFC championship belt before he ever fought in the UFC. The only thing more absurd than that was the night they woke Matt Hughes up and informed him that he was the champion."
Eric Holden has been a UFC fan since the early 1990s and believes Sonnen will come away victorious in his rematch against Anderson Silva. Follow the author on Twitter @ericholden.
