Things got interesting last night in the Quinton Jackson arrest. Where exactly was he staying overnight? Initial reports had him going to the Orange County Jail then TMZ.com reported he was not booked because he was "medically unfit" and was sent to an area hospital.
UPDATE: The Orange County Register is reporting Jackon has been admitted to a hospital for mental evaluation.
Acquaintances of the former light-heavyweight titleholder flagged down officers driving past his home in the 100 block of Whistling Isle about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. His friends were concerned by alarming comments and behavior and wanted officers to decide if Jackson was a danger to himself or others, said Irvine police Lt. Rick Handfield. He was rattled by the defeat, telling friends Monday at the HB Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach that he had barely been sleeping, said "Razor" Rob McCullough, a former World Extreme Cagefighting champ.
Jackson, who is divorced and has four children, spoke of being under heavy pressure and seemed weary of his sport's limelight, McCullough said.
"It sounds like he had a nervous breakdown," McCullough said today. "It all just got to be too much for him."
It looks like someone got lucky and may have made some cash with the photos that TMZ posted. The first photos that hit the web were taken from a house across the street from the scene on the Balboa penisula section of Newport Beach. Someone else came onto the scene in front Rampage's truck and shot this video that landed on TMZ.
Obviously many fans had fun with the original photos. The entire country appears to be well-versed in photoshop. One man who may benefit from Jackson's legal issues is Chuck Liddell (pictured in the back of Jackson's truck). If Liddell beats Rashad Evans at UFC 89, nothing should stop him from the first crack at new UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin.
One company that may not be pleased is Rampage's sponsor, Toyo Tires. It wasn't a banner day for the tire company as the shredded tire photo from Jackson's truck is all over the web.

WOW... ya my last bad decision was almost killing people and running from the police. Don't compare us regular Joe's that make minor mistakes to one that almost took lives and damaged a lot of property. You Sir get the dumbest comment of the day award, CONGRATS!!!!
