Brandon Vera is confused. He was one of the most popular prospects in the UFC after he took out Frank Mir back at UFC 65. After a few lackluster fights and some distractions away from the cage, Vera is now a target for UFC president Dana White and many of the fans and blogs.

Vera wasn't happy with the media and fans before his last fight. After his win over Mike Patt, he got some more guff online for his celebration or a lack of class in the cage. Along with Nick Diaz (exploding on video), "The Truth" is tired of hearing about words like "class" and "respect" from people who've never stepped in the cage:

"What we go through to get to that point, all the hard work and the effort that you put in to get that shining moment," told Cage Writer. "That's hitting the damn lottery. How are you going to act when you win $10 million. Do you care what other people think? Hell no!"

Watch Vera talk about Matt Hamill's celebration after beating his good friend Mark Munoz (4:07 mark):

Vera explained what happened to his friend Munoz, who was knocked out by a huge head kick from Hamill. He said Munoz froze up a bit on the big stage. It was the same for Vera, who said he couldn't feel his legs, during his UFC debut against Fabio Scherner.

You have to fight to win if you are going to hold both the HW & LHW belt at the same time, as he has claimed he will. and I will have no problem not watching his fights. he is the 3rd Diaz brother

White and the UFC only care about Vera due to his ethnicity. But think about things logically.
    Reality: Vera is a hack.
The Good News: There are millions of people in the Philippines. Why not find one guy, preferably from the Philippines, who can actually fight. It shouldn’t be that hard. Vera is worthless. And his little victory dance is beyond pathetic.
If White were just a little smarter, he would have tapped into the Philippines with a better business plan. But White is not a savvy business man. Does he have an M.B.A. from Harvard? No! What are his qualifications as “president” of the UFC?
Reality: White was a good for nothing want-to-be “boxer” who couldn’t make it in boxing. So his rich mobster buddies took his pathetic ass into business with them to buy the “UFC.” He doesn’t comport himself like a businessman. He does not make decisions like a businessman. White is a clown and his keep Vera on the payroll is not a smart business move.

Vera is getting a bad rap because after his first couple losses he keeps playing it safe, he needs to find that confidence and aggression he had to start his career. Who cares if someone celebrates too much, its better than the typical reserved interview where they thank god, their team, and say how tough their opponent is. How many times do want you want to see that? A little personality is good

Less tough talk + more tough Fight= less disapointed fans. I have always been a fan of vera and even bought in to his hype until the tim silvia fight he said he so much deserved..one can be a fan and make comments that differ from others and not be a hater...just able to think independently and judge for ones self..
one should be able to celbrate a victory as much as they want, i would like it not to look like a celebration of their opponets loss, some fighters (k.grove for example ) go a little far.
( no, i dont use spell check)

vera is missing the point, when he says he doesnt care about what people think that havent stepped into the cage. because its not the people that step into the cage that put up the money so he can fight for a living, its the fans that pay to watch him fight and all the sponsors that want to get those fans money.also over celebrating or showing personality isnt only an occurence in mma it happens in every sport. from baseball when a hitter shows off after a home run, to endzone celebrations in football, to alexander ovechkin on almost every goal he scores in the nhl and even ushin bolt when he basically pulled up in the 100m final in the olympics and still won. should fans care(get mad) if athletes celebrate after doing something amazing, maybe not, but to say that only people who step in to a cage know what its like to win at something comes off very arrogant. for a guy who couldnt put away resse andy its really arrogant.

Truth be told, when you knock someone out, you never know how hurt they are. They could pop up in a minute and whine about a stoppage or be in la-la land for an uncomfortable amount of time. Should the doubt about how badly an opponent is hurt prevent a fighter from celebrating a victory? No. The crowd goes wild, and you don't hear bloggers expressing their disgust with each other. We're all watching for the same reasons, and celebrating for the same reasons. Some fighters do it with respect, others are a little less respectful, but they earned the victory and the victory dance.

Bloggers have to much time on their hands! Sittting in their parents basement, trying to act like their opinions matter. Celebrations are all about winning, but i don't expect computer geeks to know anything about that. If you are not involved in combat sports, you shouldn't be telling us about class & respect. When you walk into combat it show time. Don't comment on things if you don't have first hand knowledge. Your opinion doesn't matter. Your one buy won't impact the show one way, or the other.

I think all you opinionated [profane]s on here need to shut those gaping holes you call mouths and get your rear ends in the ring or run a business like Vera or White. I read these blogs and all I ever here is the same BS... somebody loves the guys and then 20 people trash on him. You can pick almost ANY fighter in the entire world and there are more haters on the blogs then fans. Hell, I was just reading a blog on Fedor and sure enough there were tons of Lesner fans on there bashing on him. Get over it, all of these fighters are 10 times the athletes and fighteres than all of us on here combined. I also always here about Dana White and how he doesnt know how to run a business, and he's ruining this business. HAH!!! Last time I checked they are the only MMA promotion that is actually turning a profit. He is also the ONLY reason that I can go home tonight and catch some MMA on cable TV. Dana White has his shortcomings (we all do), but as a whole he has made MMA what it is today and I think he has done one heck of a job. As far as Vera goes, well, I think he is a good fighter with lots of potential. He may not be the next big thing, but he does have some serious talent. As far as his celebrating is concerned, who really cares? I sure as hell dont. If I was in there I would celebrate after a win as well. What difference does it make if you perform some stupid routine in the cage or jump up on the cage and motion to the crowd (like I have seen MANY of the MMA stars do). Long story short is get off the hater-ADE all. These guys do more in a day than most of you will do in an entire lifetime.....
