UFC 93: Afternoon Delight

UFC 93, taking place in Dublin, will air at 3 p.m. ET this Saturday, a full seven hours before fight fans are accustomed to watching events. This is hardly the first afternoon event, but they happen so infrequently that it can be jarring to watch people beat the crap out of each other at 3:00 p.m., not 10:00 p.m. But it's not all bad.

-- There is nothing else going on in the sports world this Saturday. College football is over, the NFL will play only on Sunday, the NBA has one game and that's at 7:30. Though there are several hockey games, none will be broadcast nationally. The only real competition is college hoops. 

-- It's cold. Seriously cold. Why would you want to leave your house?

-- Food, glorious food. For most fights, you've moved on from eating and are focused on drinking. For an afternoon card, eating can still be the focus. May I suggest this set of recipes? They're easy enough to follow, even for the kitchen-challenged. If all else fails, order a pizza. 

-- Your Saturday night is free so that you can spend a little time with those people in your living room. What are they called again? Oh, your family. That's right. Spend Saturday night with your family, because you'll be busy for the next three.

    Sucks since i work saturdays and can usually get out in time for fights, 3 pm?? no chance.

    Anyways, afternoon fights are just a reason to start drinking earlier in the day. And as this card isn't worth buying, I'll probably go watch it at a bar. Thanks UFC!

    Speargun's in the truck..Longbords on the roof....wax in a bag in the glove box....Huntington beach is knee high, South Bay is ankle slappin..And I herd San Onofre is Knee high with waist high sets...Palos Verdes is yoked with bugs...God Is good...

    me- i wouldn't go in that pond scum of a beach either......oceanside,however, was clean and knee high with a few 4-5 footers at high tide today. perfect for my 9 ft longboard!

    Ican.....your an idiot.....longboards are fine for small waves. especially when you're teaching your kids . which was what i was doing. and check the surf reports twerp.....they'll tell you the same thing. and so you know,there are longer "longboards" than mine. try buying one.....the first question will be.....get ready for it [profane]...."how long?" which i'm sure you ask all your potenial boyfriends.

    mine is a 7'4" bessell reflex. hand shaped. but i use australian cool boards with the kids......much safer and less expensive to learn on.
    nut.....with all your travels i'll bet you seen some sweet waves. nice board.........
