Brock Lesnar has wowed a lot of folks with his quick rise to the top of the MMA heavyweight mountain. Don't include Frank Mir in that group. He views Lesnar a big guy with little skill and potential cardio issues:
"Honestly, I think big guys are easier to fight. They don't move as fast, they get tired quickly and they're not as technical," Mir told Cagewriter.
Mir is prepping for the UFC heavyweight title fight at UFC 101 with a unique approach. Instead of packing on extra pounds of muscle to contend with the 280-pound Lesnar, Mir is going to try and force the big guy to match up with his strengths. Mir wants to push the pace and make Lesnar catch him. Mir has got some big guys in his training camp at Striking Unlimited in Las Vegas, who are similar in style to Lesnar, but he's also chosen to spar often with UFC light heavyweight Forrest Griffin. Griffin, who walks around at 235 pounds, is pushing Mir to the brink:
"If I want to sharpen my tools I have to work with somebody who's not a sitting target like Forrest. Who moves around a lot, he's extremely conditioned. He's fast and can throw 300 punches compared to 30 punches a round. Forrest is my worst nightmare. Basically you have to go for broke and knock him out, and if you don't he's still going to be standing there coming after you."
Mir appeared trim during this Friday discussion weighing around 255. His face look like hell though. Griffin goes all out. As a result, Mir had a nasty shiner around his right eye, with some discoloration in the eye. In a separate sparring incident, Griffin gave Mir a huge knot on his forehead (pictured above).
Mir said he feels like he's moving like a middleweight and Lesnar simply won't be able catch him. He also thinks Lesnar will be confused as he tries to process everything being thrown his way.
"There's so many things going on in the fight. I think his mind will be paralyzed because he's having to deal with so many new elements. Instead of going for things real slow and powerful, I may as well go for speed so I can add more chaos to his brain."
Listen to Mir with Cagewriter less than two weeks from the fight:
Mir said Lesnar is too slow. He added that Lesnar would have little chance to beat some of the top light heavyweights like Griffin, Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida.
Check out Mir's new physique as he works kicks with trainer Ken Hahn:
Aside from the knot on his head and the black eye, Mir said his shin was a little sore from a kick and he was soaking his right ankle in some ice on Friday after the open media workout. As far as a full contact sparring he goes with a few more hard sessions this week before shutting down in anticipation of the fight in 12 days.

But if Mir is getting smashed up by Forrest, I don't like his chances. While he looked great in the Nog fight, he still wasn't fast, and was very repetitive. He threw the same combo a few time, and Nog didn't really block.............. much at all. This fight isn't going to go down standing though. This fight is going to look ALOT like the 1st fight. The difference is going to be this time, when Brock gets the TD, he is goign to take his time, get Mir under control, and smash him to pieces. Mir will be content to work off his back, but he won't realize the folly until they wake him up. Mirs best chance in this fight is to keep it standing, and pray he doesn't get hit before he can knock Brock down, because off his back against Mir is the one place he would be a fish out of water.

Also, Randy was going to work on Lesnar when he got caught with the behind the ear punch. In a rematch, I think he would win a decision.

I think most of you fan boys are from the WWF or don't understand the difference between skill and being able to lift a bus.

Suddenly everything that comes out of Rampage's mouth should be taken literally? The latter talks a lot of smack for someone who lost the fight.
--------------------------------------------
He can talk all of the smack he wants, he was whipping Griffin's ass. Griffin's leg kicks slowed him down and that is why he won by decision.
