The Quinton Jackson chase and arrest was unfortunate on many fronts and from an advertising standpoint it couldn't have pleased the folks at Toyo Tires very much. The company's name was plastered all over the sides of the truck.
Adam Hill from the Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed this out in his Tuesday MMA notebook:
Jackson, driving a large pickup truck with his picture and name painted on both sides, tried to elude the officer.Eventually, Jackson's tire shredded away, and he was taken into custody without further incident. Ironically, the truck was a gift to Jackson from one of his sponsors, Toyo Tires.
Nice writing and a good point by Hill. It was one of the ironic parts of the Jackson story. Today, we saw a little twist in the story when this appeared online:
CORRECTION -- 07/23/08 -- The truck referenced in a sports story in Tuesday’s Review-Journal as being driven by mixed martial artist Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was NOT FROM Toyo Tires as reported, but the athlete is a paid endorser of the company and the vehicle prominently displays the Toyo Tires logo in several places.
You would assume the correction was generated because of a Toyo Tires' protest. At the moment, Toyo must have an issue with its ties to Jackson. It's not surprising, these are the times of hypersensitivity.

I'm still waiting to see if Dana comes down as hard on Jackson as he has done with other fighters who have recently " embarrassed " the UFC in White's angelic eyes. No doubt White will come up with illogical reasoning and phony diagnosis for Jackson's insanity. He was already at his spin doctoring best with the excuses immediately after it happened.
White kicked Jesse Taylor's butt ( verbally, not physically, as White is all talk no action ) and all he did was act like a drunk punk. Jackson put peoples lives at risk. Let's see how White handles ( or doesn't is my guess ) this situation.
