Slurred speech is one of the many scary long term effects of taking thousand of punches as a professional boxer. Have we seen what happens from a long MMA career? Tito Ortiz suggested to The Junkies on WJFK in Washington, D.C. that Chuck Liddell is a prime example of what can happen:

"I want to inspire any kids under the age of 19, 20 to spar with each other with gloves and headgear. You get punched in the face and all of sudden you start talking like Chuck Liddell."

Listen to Ortiz talk about his home and club life with Jenna Jameson (1:40 mark):

Ortiz, 34, mentioned that he'd like to retire around 36 but may continue to fight even longer if the money is huge. During the interview, he also rips Anderson Silva (0:56 mark) for not fighting hard at UFC 97. Listen here to the entire 45 minute interview with Ortiz.

Tito is just trying to get back at a guy he knows he would never beat! So let him talk since that's all he will be remembered for and of course not wanting to fight Chuck. So what you want about Chuck he at least defended against everyone at the time.

I love the Junkies best radio show in the world and then Big O and Dukes right after them plus Mike Omeara, best radio line up in the world and after all that they play Capitals Hockey on the station too. You never have to change at all. Go Junks Big O and Dukes Mike Omeara and even Luke Thomas from Bloody Elbow.com has a show on 106.7.

If that's the only way Howard the Duck(Tito) can get back at Chuck Liddell for beating his a** twice in the Octagon, then that's pretty cheap. Go fight some UFC washed guys in Strikeforce or Affliction because you know you will never be at the level of the UFC again.

Tito Ortiz and "Coherent, sensible sentence" do not belong in the same sentence together, unless said sentence is something to the extent of "Tito Ortiz is incapable of speaking a coherent, sensical sentence."

Although chuck ko'd tito twice, tito makes a good point. This is the first time tito talked retirement, and I thought that chuck was getting a lot more than 1mil.5 Not just for the people he beat, but for the people he fought. All fights were big ppv purses. Chuck dosen't care about words from tito, but if machida loses combined with a machida loss, rampage is next. And left. I'll bet dana will be listening.

Good one Jack. Made me laugh.
I am not a Tito hater but not exactly a fan either...but I think this comment was probably taken the wrong way by most. Tito knows that Chuck did and could kick his ass. I think him mentioning Chuck is really more out of respect, but nothing out of Tito's mouth ever sounds respectful.

I like both fighters and almost always watch the re-runs of both. They both are responsible for the popularity of the sport today. Both got screwed $$ wise in the earlier years, and are now finally getting NEAR the $$ they deserve. In boxing...they used to call it "PUNCH DRUNK", and many older fighters suffered from it. If you fight MMA and don't think it will happen to you....good luck with that. Kind of like cauliflower ear...fight long enough and it's going to happen. AS far as the hating TITO thing.....not here. My 62 year old buddy and a couple of others were walking down Main St. in Huntington B. and saw Tito walking with some friends. My buddy said " What did You Say To Me" to Tito and he put up his hands and said "Nothing mister ..Nothing" We all laughed so hard I thought was going to pass out!...Greetings from the Hooters Costa Mesa Group. Keep fighting Chuck !!!

Out of respect for Chuck- everyone may want to think about Tito's comments- Chuck can't take a good punch anymore, seen it with others in the gym- suddenly getting dropped by shots they could have easily absorbed before.

Tito already sounds punch drunk because he is just plain dumb to begin with. Jenna wears the pants in that relationship. She has made a lot of money off her name and websites, estimated at well over 100 million. She make take nads to the chin, but she has made the pounding work for her bank account.

Tito should go to Curt Schilling's house so they can blog together, and rip on other, more successful athletes. Chuck's speech may be slowing - But I've seen Tito's girl's insidie parts.
