It looks like 2009 will be the best year ever for superfights that thought we'd never see. The one that will steal the show in terms of pre-fight hype and trash-talking is Matt Hughes v. Matt Serra.
It was all set-up by a massive clash of personalities on The Ultimate Fight 6. You were either a Hughes fan or a Serra fan. There was no in-between. The trash talk continued after the season when Hughes said Serra was a bad guy and a bad role model.
Serra responded by saying he wants to retire Hughes.
Click below to listen to Serra talk Hughes at UFC 87:
The wives want this fight! And so do we. Let's hope both guys stay healthy and we're treated to a throwdown in this rivalry.

Not a 'reverse racial lableler' but someone with insight and racial sensitivity that sees the irony and ingrained social ignorance etched all over a rassler like Hughes..

Declension: I'm aware of diversity - You're racially insensitive - He's a vicious bigot.

Glad we found some sort of common ground, quite honestly.. Yup..That was a prime example of a ground fighter slash rassler..who had absolutly NO striking skills..Sherk was picked apart easily by Penn and that should be one of many fights that help substantiate the superiority of a skilled stand-up vs the wrestler debate..look at the Machida Vs Ortiz fight as well..Tito spent the better part of three rounds getting picked apart and could not close the gap to bring it to the ground...we could go on and on..even the Liddell Vs Evans fight where a wide open counter plodder got his clock cleaned by a superior striker...and he's not even that good but his fundamentals were better..
