TUF 10 Media Day: White said he'll kick Kimbo off show if necessary

There's always heat in "The Ultimate Fighter" house. "The Ultimate Fighter 10" is mixing a bunch of huge dudes and a guy who everyone wants to take out. What are the chances that some of the cast members have already decided to bust Kimbo Slice's chops and make sure they get their television time? Why wouldn't one of the big boys try to goad Kimbo into a fight?

If that happens, will Dana White and Spike apply the rules or go the Junie Browning route? Many media members and viewers thought Browning was given chance after chance and a long leash simply based on ratings for TUF 8. Dana White says no way (2:20 mark):

"It's easy to say we sit back and think about the ratings all time. (Sure) I want the ratings to be good, we want to stay on Spike. But I'm not going to do anything that hurts the business or the reputation of the UFC by keeping someone on the show. I'll never do that."

White explained that Browning was a unique case. The kid wanted to quit so he chose to force White's hand. White said it was better to let Browning stay on the show and sink or swim in the Octagon.

That may or not be the case with Kimbo if he chooses to revert to his backyard brawling days:

"Am I afraid to kick Kimbo off the show before he fights? No. Do I want to? No. At the end of the day, I think everyone would feel cheated if he gets kicked off the show for fighting at the house. That's going to suck for everybody, but I can't say that that won't happen."

Taping for "The Ultimate Fighter 10" began on Monday. The debut of TUF 10 airs Sept. 16.

    I hope Kimbo will make it pass the 1st fight, it would be a huge letdown if he gets eliminated too quickly.

    Steve "The Hack" Cofield you sound like that poster named Nutcracker sure you are not him? I say Kimbo gets TUF title and then fights Brock in a White Vs Black MMA barn burner. RACE sells like no other thing in this world.

    Honestly, I see Kimbo being the last first round fight. That way you ensure viewership for the first few weeks for those waiting to see him fight.

    The rumor is Kimbo got a big chunk of change for the TUF show, so does any body think he going to be leaving anytime soon, or is Dana want his money worth

    Seriously Steve "the Hack" Cofield, STFU. Man you are the type that just wont be happy. Look, Kimbo Slice is in the ultimate fighter, we are going to see him try to prove to all of us if he is a legit, a true mma fighter. Your so damn negative. Enjoy and have fun watching, what dana and the ufc have worked hard, putting on tv for us.

    YEAAAH COME ON! So CORNFIELD (cofield), you butt faced clown. You get excited cause Dana lets you "break" the story of Kimbo, and then I guess you had to unpucker your lips from his a$$. And now He's given you nothin elase. Do us all a favor at least let your girl MAGGIE write something here for you. Give her the experience, cause your just s**t as writer, unless your being spoon fed, or I mean butt fed, You prick.

    Does anyone here actually expect that Kimbo is going to go all "Berzerk" on people in the house? The guy may be garbage as a fighter but he's not a TOTAL moron. And even if HE is, he's got enough half-way intelligent people working for him to prepare him to keep his head.
    Maybe I'm way off base here, but I think he's going to be totally fine in the house. He'll lose at some point and continue to work hard and help the other guys in the house because that's what his media people will tell him to do. He'll come out looking super professional and America will root for him even more regardless of how he does in the tournament. Dana is hyping the show with all this "I'll cut him if he fights in the house" stuff. Dana knows Kimbo's not going to do anything. Hell, I'm sure they've had at least a dozen conversations about how to market the pre-show / show / and the post show career.

    "Do you think Kimbo will save MMA?" Since when did MMA need saving??? Oh yeah, that came from Mr. MVP who is a boxing fan a.k.a. Nutcracker. He/they got confused and thought they were talking about boxing which does need saving. LOL, MMA crushed boxing in PPV buys last year and they/he talks about MMA needing "saving". How ironic and moronic for Mr. MVP to say.
    Nut - Kimbo may not be "world class" but who in TUF ever was originally?? He did whip Ray Mercer's azzz which I am sure burned you up and he not only whipped his azzz in stand up but ended the fight with a submission. I knew you would be negative about anything TUF or UFC because you always are. Well not always, you do revert to "I like MMA" in other blogs but most of the time you are negative. YOU know you will be watching, YOU know you like MMA, and YOU don't know how well Kimbo will fight or how far he can go. You are just a hater because boxing has little or no support or interest from fight fans. I feel sorry for you and the rest of the boxing world. It is obvious that boxing is dying and you can't handle it so you 'try' to act negative about MMA when in fact you like it. Just quit the charade and admit you like MMA, you will continue to follow it and boxing sux. The first time you do this you will feel like a new man. the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Your Dad should have already taught you this.........you do have a dad don't you????

    Kimbo is not going to lose his first fight. And trust me alot of people have been hit with lucky punches. this guy has the heart of a fighter. he has lsurvived prison. He has alot to prove and im glad Dana gave him the oppertunity. Gives guys like me who want to Be in the UFC hope.

    I agree with Dana's attitude about all this. The bottom line is the ratings aren't even the main issue at hand - and I agree that Junie was definitely good for ratings. What I feel is more important is the question of whether Junie deserved the chances he got, and I personally credit Dana for giving him the opportunity he did. I'm 100% positive that if the guys told Dana that they couldn't take Junie's presence anymore and were really afraid he'd physically hurt one of them, Dana would have pulled the plug right away. But I think everyone recognized Junie just had major personality issues (as opposed to having real conflicts with the other fighters). Junie's progress after the show proves to me that Dana made a compassionate effort to really make the kid step up and start living up to his potential.

    Sorry, but if you don't think TUF is a good proving ground you aren't a real fan of the UFC. TUF has produced great, great fighters over the years. Maybe you should start watching.

    kimbo is one of the most upstanding guys i know. all the bull people write and read about him,is just bull. i know he trains hard every day. and you think he's going to lose it in the house? remember he has six kids at home ,with six diffrent personalities. i think he will be fine in the house.     Has anyone actually heard Kimbo in an interview? He is quite soft spoken and somewhat humble. It really isn't his fault that he was promoted as the TOP STAR for Elite. He took the money they offered (who wouldn't?) and paraded around like Elite asked him to. I agree that Kimbo won't fight until the last prelim bout (have to milk the audience/ratings), but he seems to be a long way removed from the animal some keyboard cowboys make him out to be. I hope he does well enough to make it back onto the TUF Finale, though I think he won't win the TUF tournament.

    Why the hell does kimbo need to fight for a contract he's already a pro and faught other places??? how come brock never had to fight like this? it's just like putting rashad through hell just to get a title shot, yet brock gets beat his first finght, wins one fight then gets a title shot? what a bunch of racist nonsense!

    BTW, I know why MMA fans hate boxing, because most of their fighters can hardly do it. A punch here, punch there, then lets roll on the ground and watch someone dry hump the other then back to the A, B, C's of MMA I put my legs up you jump through them, but hope you don't hit me on your way down whoooooo... HOW LAME! Boxing in trouble? please! I'll say one thing right now .. sure you guys loooove your mma... it's the big thing right now.. but wait till a muther F*cker dies in the cage on live ppv then we'll see your MMA stopped dead in it's tracks. Believe that! I was watching a UFC thing yesterday and it was one of the most boring things ever, the only good parts were WHEN THE FIGHTERS WERE BOXING!

    he knocked ray mercer out cold in 10 seconds and guess what?ray mercer just knocked out tim silvia in 10 seconds.
    wasnt tim silvia a ufc champ once apon a time?
    wasnt kimbo training with bas ruten?
    i believe alot of you people on here want the ufc to stay damn near all white. heres the problem though,once black athletes(and its already starting to happen)it will be dominated by black fighters.look at history.blacks get into baseball and take over blacks get into football, basketball,and boxing and take over.your time in the sun will soon be over.
