Cagewriter - UFC

Joe Stevenson is slowly creeping his way back into the title hunt at lightweight in the UFC. After losing 3-of-4 fights against guys at the top of the division, he's taken out Nate Diaz and Spencer Fisher. When Cagewriter and Adam Hill from the Las Vegas Review-Journal sat down with Stevenson after the UFC 104 postfight presser, he launched into an attack on DREAM's Shinya Aoki (2:20 mark).

Joe is looking better, but he has to beat a few more top level guys before he is convincing.
All this BS about not fighting friends is huring the UFC's match-making. For example: Anderson-Machida, Fitch & Swick & Kos.........

Florian subbed Stevenson. I think Aoki would have little trouble doing the same.

He isn't ready for Aoki, besides the fact he fights in dream.... Lets see him get a few more wins over quality opponents under his belt. i would like to see him fight the winner of Guida V Florian.

Aoki subs Stevenson with swiftness. In UFC or Dream. Location matters not

I really like Joe Daddy and his confidence. But......Shinya "Fancy Pants" Aoki would sub Joe quickly under any rules format... then Aoki would cry tears of happiness. Joe would most likely get beat by Hell Boy Hansen or Eddie Alvarez as well. That weight range just has so many great fighters in Dream, in the UFC, and in the WEC. worldwide I don't see Joe quite making my top ten 155ers.

He's calling out Aoki 'cause he got tooled by Diego, Penn, & Florian (no rush to see a rematch with anybody IMO) and won't fight the only two remaining top LW's in the UFC, Maynard and Griffin. Stevenson impressed me against Fisher but then again it was Fisher, I would like to to introduce you to the newest Gatekeeper at 155.

#8, You forgot Kawajiri and Ishida both those would also be a stearn test for Joe in Dream. Not that we will ever get to see it.

Stevenson would beat the crap outta Florian and Sanchez...The set up's are over.....His hands aren't quick enough to beat Penn and that will never change...

Steve W...You may be right with his mma not good enough to beat Penn, I was way to vauge...But seriously Florian? & Sanchez...There all lumped in the same skill set..Stevenson was a good UFC pawn and if he got his re-matches he would tool both of 'em...

ehhh, i don't know what area he'd school them in but i suppose i can't speculate as to how he would do in rematches. if you're suggesting that he threw those fights then i don't know where to start and don't really have much argument for that other than....wow.

Joe Daddy has proved nothing except that he is just outside the top guys. Not putting him down for that, just saying he needs a real signature win before he can start bragging.
I would like to see him fight Guida, but Kenflo is already going to do that. So Joe daddy can fight....uh, Sean Sherk? Yeah, sounds good, let's make it happen.

Sherk would be a great fight for him..If he can take out sherk definitively that would make a statement for sure...I just want him to fight Florian again. So he can drop some serious elbows to his grill...

he's gonna have a hard time dropping those elbows from the mount....but maybe we'll see some day. i also think sherk would be a great one for him, not too sure who would win that one as sherk has also dropped off, or everyone else has risen rather.

I agree with 19, he's good but right outside of the top. I think he would give Aoki a game though.
