UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva is a company man. He did the promotion a huge favor by moving up to 205 lbs. on less than a five weeks (got the word on June 15 for a Jult 19 fight) to face James Irvin at Ultimate Fight Night 14. He also repeated several times at the UFN 14 post-fight press conference that UFC had the best fighters in the world. He even said, UFC fighters would be willing to battle other organizations:

"Once again I think the UFC proved that UFC has the best fighters in the world. If there was any event out there that would have the balls to put together a team to fight a UFC team, there's no doubt in my mind that it would be a slaughter."

ULTIMATE FIGHT NIGHT 14 POST-FIGHT CONFERENCE PART 2:

Watch Part 1 of the UFN 14 POST-FIGHT CONFERENCE here as well as a one-on-one with Anthony Johnson.

Will Dana White go for the team concept? When pressed on the issue, White chuckled and asked for one more question.

Silva may be a company man but he should leave promtion ideas to White because if the UFC isn't getting the majority of the revenues then there's no way White would go for it. And besides, I doubt White believes in his fighters THAT much. Lastly, cage or the ring? I could see some matches though.
    Nog vs. Fedor
Silva vs. Fedor (see who the real p4p fighter is)
    A. Silva vs. Arlovski (different weight classes but I would love to see that happen)
Arlovski vs. Sylvia (those fights were always interesting)
    F. Griffin vs. Ben Rothwell (different weight classes, but both of these guys are hard to bring down - grind it out fighters)
    and plenty more.

People it was Afflicitons first card. Give them time... They are not stupid. i am sure if they are in it for the long haul, they know it will take some losses to make some gains down the road. The UFC was a sinking ship for the longest... Of course The UFC is deeper in the lighter divisions.. I am sure as the sport of MMA develops, and better fighters come along, Affliction will sign some and it will get more even. Silva is silly with that talk of going team against team.. Of course UFC would win. I think I remember Silva calling out Roy Jones for a boxing match as well. I guess coz The UFC wasn't paying that well.. D. White threw that under the bus in a hurry... Give it time.. Affliction has only put on one card

GSP shouldn't move up in weight since he hasn't cleaned out the welterweight division yet or even successfuly defend his title. BJ wants to jump to welterweight but he has to defend his title against the winner of the huerta/florian fight. Silva also has to defend his title against cote, but after that i really wish he'd just go up to lhw division.

Does this mean Silva no longer wants to get embarrassed by a 40 year old over the hill fighter in Roy Jones???

Yuni K you hit it right on the head. Believe it or not only new MMA fans thinks only the UFC has all the best fighters in the WORLD. Yes watching MMA the last 5 yrs is a new fan! People only beleive all the best fighter are in the UFC because it had a backing by 2 millionaire brothers who put in great marketing. You only see Marketing from the ufc over the last 5 yrs. Thats the only reason.

Just have Fedor fight Silva and watch Silva get destroyed and see what excuses that WUSSY Dana White comes up with.
