Enough of the boxing talk from Anderson Silva and Kimbo Slice. Silva re-ignited the discussion of taking a shot at boxing with the news that he's working with Freddie Roach. Roach confirms Silva's appearance at The Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles in this video. The UFC middleweight champ is working with the renowned boxing trainer just like Andrei Arlovski, B.J. Penn and Sokoudjou have in the past. He may simply be trying to improve his hands for what could be an upcoming fight against Chuck Liddell at UFC 95 or we may have to again listen to the ridiculous notion that he wants to fight Roy Jones Jr.

What's worse than that? How about Kimbo Slice, coming off a 14 second KO loss, saying he wants to try boxing too. Kimbo told Dan LeBatard last week he's ready to crossover.

Slice entering boxing really wouldn't be that bad since we know that he's a bit of a circus act. For Silva, one of MMA's best, the attempt at boxing is a lose-lose proposition. If he gets destroyed by someone like Jones, he and mixed martial arts are a laughingstock. And since the 39-year old Jones Jr. was just smashed by Joe Calzaghe, what does a victory really do for Silva?

Click below to hear Kimbo boxing comments (790 The Ticket):

Silva says he walks around at 230 lbs. and Kimbo weighs in for his fights around 235, so let's match up the two boxing wannabes to battle it out wearing the big gloves.

Make sure to listen to the entire Kimbo interview on 790 The Ticket. In spite of his obvious deficiencies as a legit fighter, Slice comes off once again as a very genuine and likeable guy.

I'd love to see Silva box Kimbos ears. I'd like to see him box Jones Jr., then get him in a clinch and knee him in the nose. He'd be like "oops damn I forgot this a different sport" mean while Jones has a broken nose and is lieing on the mat bleeding out.

that's not a bad idea for Kimbo- boxing is basically just padded street fighting, so why not? As for Silva- that's ridiculous. And I had no idea he was normally 230. At the risk of asking a stupid question- how can u cut that much weight that fast? I'd really love to drop about 20 lbs. in the next 2 wks...
    : p
seriously, though- I've always wondered how fighters cut weight so efficiently; cuz I've never been able to like that...

and it's hard for me to hate Kimbo. He's an overhyped, undertalented marketing machine; but he's so damn likeable, I just can't hate on him... sorry.

    Nutcracker-
obviously I know there's a little more to boxing than street fighting with gloves (not much, but a little)... it was a joke man, chill out. I have nothing against boxing, I just prefer mma. And I have nothing against Kimbo either, really. It's not his fault CBS and EXC threw a truckload of money at him even though he didn't deserve it. Would u have refused it if u were him? Haven't we had these discussions like, 80 times now?

blazincaucasian... First of all, with a name like that, you rival only "Kenflo" with idiotic nicknames. I am sure you would make Junie proud... The only nuts on a chin are mine on your toothless mommas'.... So tell that heffa to swallow quick coz I got another load for her ragincaucasin belly.. I dont think boxing is soooooo much batter than MMA. I do get a laugh at many MMA fighters however because that part of their game is so incredibly lacking.. As I have said before, I see MMA fighters throwing punches that look like my girl throwing a football.. Retards.. So blaze these nuts twinky....

Look guys Im not gone take shots or talk bad about anybody or any sport but with that said. Ican2 there is no way Ia guy comes in off 4 fights total in his career and becomes heavyweight Champion of the world in boxing. Even as weak as it is now. NO WAY. Even if the Champ had been out a yr. Look Vitali Had been out 4 yrs adn had to fight a man with 28 fights plus under his belt and considered a good fighter. Vitali beat him. NO WAY you can BECOME CHAMP in BOXING EVER OFF 4 fights. Now Way!!!!! I love MMa to watch but I understand how fresh it is. NO way a fighter beats a Legend with just 4 fights under his belt. Thats just the truth!!!

First off let me say I use to like WWE until I watch The ultimate fighter season 1 and became a Forrest griffin fan. I know who Brock is and what he is about and i didnt think it was right for him to get the title fight but MMA is a business and UFC made alot of money off the hype alone. Brock beat Couture and is the better man. Many people say he had more weight and is younger but Couture has fought those same types of guys before and beat them. Boxing has never ever appealed to me and im a sports junkie.. I know who certain boxers are and have saw a few boxing matches but c'mon Boxing is dieing a slow slow death... will it ever truley die no it wont but for now and for what may be a long time Boxing is in a coma and UFC/MMA put it there. Kimbo is garbage and he is just trying to be a bocer so he can make money the guy is a bum and is looking for the quick buck. Silva has no reason to start boxing and is just mad that he keeps knocking out guys in UFC and cannot get a chalange which until he got hurt his last opponent was...

Norman, I do not have a problem with that in itsself, But you boxers need to TRY to understand this MMA is a culmination of multiple discplines, and you Should be really good in most of them..The 4oz gloves make a huge diffreence as well, had Randy caught that punch with the bean bag chairs boxers use he never would have felt it..boxers as I said dont need to worry about getting kicked in the head either or insted of Dirty boxing catching an elbow that slices your head open..or taken to the ground and all sorts of other bad stuff can happen too you there to that your boxing will NOT help you..
Now, I am not a fan of this last fight between Brock and randy for reasons I have already mentioned, But it is what it is and the next fight Mongo has should be a really good indicator as to his development..

I think Kimbo would have a chance in a straight up boxing match. Man no one realizes Kimbo banked off Dana White. He was paid to drop that fight. One less company to compete against.

Supercar your right because MMA is much harder then Boxing.. Most MMAalready have been working on some form of boxing not all boxers work on BJJ-or submission moves.. ground and pound.. Im not saying all ufc guys can box because they cant but they all work at it wether they are great or not is a different story.. there are some ufc fighters that are great boxers..
