He's been a human punching bag for the last few days but give Jared Shaw credit, the guy stands right there and fires back. The EliteXC VP appeared on ESPNRadio1100 and things got testy. He is standing by his philosophy and the company's former meal ticket Kimbo Slice.

The only guy Shaw (pictured on the left with Slice) isn't standing by is Ken Shamrock. He re-iterated that he may not want to work with Shamrock again and that he has his doubts about how the now infamous cut came about. Shaw didn't take too well to answering a question about Dana White who called him retarded and questioned his competancy last week.

CLICK BELOW TO LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE INTERVIEW (ESPNRadio1100):

On the subject of the Seth Petruzelli claim that he was told 'no takedowns' before the Kimbo fight, Shaw said that he'd never heard anyone from EliteXC say that. He also took on Las Vegas radio host Dave Cokin when 'The Hat' repeatedly said "Kimbo sucks, stop pushing him as a real fighter."

Kimbo got his money. He could care less about the loss now.

There will always be a place for the likes of the Kimbos and the tank Abbotts of the MMA world.
They make it exciting with some short but furious slug fests.
Maybe they can just be fight for the jawbreaker World title and who cares what happens.

LMFAO...I just read Shaw's pack of lies about this whole charade...pitiful. Kimbo's been working on his ground game? It showed, 1 punch and he went right down to the ground...practice makes perfect huh??
And believe me... no way no how should this idiot be rooting for ANY ONE FIGHTER TO WIN EVER.

Elite XC have few shows left. The only way it would survive is to present main events between really good fighters. Since their lineup is not as talented as the UFC, they should consider merging with Affliction or other MMA promotions.

"..competancy last week." It's a minimum requirement. Something clearly in short supply.

After looking at that pic, I have no malice towards Slice, but I would be most happy with a match against Shaw Jr.... I am judging a book by its' cover... And I dont like it much...
If XC is going to move forward. , they should pound the pavement, find up and coming 'real' talent, sign them and bring them along. The fighting public may be stupid in general, but good fighters make good fights. The UFC doesn't have them all under contract.. Go young, or old, but go with some talent. Then make them household names rather than the other way around. Having said that, I enjoyed Caranos' fight and the first fight on the card, the two fighters whose names' escape me. The best thing they got going at this point is it is FREE...... I dont mind buying PPV cards, but really the free option is their best trait.

Shaw is absolutely out of his mind. He is worse than a crooked Congressman and I look forward to seeing EliteXC go out of business. Thankfully, most of EliteXC's fighters are talented and should find work elsewhere.

What a slow day in terms of MMA blogs. I think it's time to excercise our freedom and make this into a MMA blog for MMA fans! Feel free to comment. Feel free to continue to diss Cofield, Shaw or Kimbo. Feel free to totally ignore me.
BJ Penn is pretty much the consensus No. One light-weight (155 lbs.) fighter in the world. He's physically strong, quick, and explosive at the weight. He's ridiculously flexible. His striking is precise and effective, his game-planning is top notch, his grappling is so phenomenal that he's the one that Joe Rogan's oft-repeated (by Joe himself) expression, "He has sick ju-jitsu," was made for; and now he's mentally focused and well-conditioned.
In all of MMA who poses the biggest threat to BJ at 155 lbs.? Why do you think so?

well of course he's not giving up on Kimbo......he's got no other fighters to depend on to make him any money. (no i dont think the chick can carry the company alone!) he has no choice but to continue to sell Kimbo as a fighter we should continue watching. and your casual fan unfortanetly will. the same way they continued watching Tyson after it was obvious he was washed up and finished. the problem may be is where will they have to go to see Kimbo. EliteXC is already walking the titerope with CBS. and if they fail on CBS, no other big network will be willing to take their chances. and the casual fans alone wont be able to bring big PPV sales. probably time to lick your wounds and move on to something else EliteXC before that hole you've dug yourself gets any worse.

is there a reason sam caplan at 5 ounces is the only writer to mention the threats during the fight?
he interviews petruzeli and we find out that slice's crew of thugs were threathening p.s wife, his trainers and even seth during the fight. i'm going to keep it clean but my feelings about lowlife scumbags threathening women are pretty clear; cowards.

....and to find out that the winner is told by the athletic commission that he should stop celebrating because it could get dangerous makes me think we have to keep big mma cards should take place in more civilized settings. i know that there is a large contingent of ---holes among mma fans but having the family/trainers threathened by the crew of an opposing fighter is way beyond that.
what about if next time some of the criminal element tell a fighter the exact address of their kids school? could that influence a fight? lets just sweep this under the rug and were gonna have criminal elements get a lot closer because the media doesnt care.

    what up LB # 31,
thanx for changing the focus of this blog HAHA
but i dont see anyone in 155 division that can handle BJ, only people i do see is other division champs GSP and Faber, the have the cardio, skill, and talent to contend with a focused BJ Penn
i would like to see other fighter like Florian, Frankie Edgar, Guida, etc to get a chance against him though because they are real talented, i just dont see them making much of a threat against BJ
they dotn call him Prodigy for nothin

i live right by DC and have many friends in some very poor hoods
and one thing i know bout kickin it on the streets out here
is never expect a fair fight
i have never jumped anyone and hav eno respect for those that do
but that is what goes on in the streets nowadays
people are scared of an asswhippin so instead they think its tuff 2 jus jump someone
I think that if EXC is gonna be a professional co. (HAHA!) they should ban these losers that made the threats
there is no place for that in mmaand maybe kimbo cant controll his boys
but EXC should neva allow them in their events again if they cant respect him gettin KO'd
he stepped in the cage it is wat it is
    get over it
imagine if it was a street fight
Seth would prolly still be in the E.R. if not gone for good

Jared "$kala" Shaw is the world's biggest toolbag. Does anyone else remember his pre-fight announcing at the Shamrock/Gracie fight for EXC? I still laugh when I think about him asking Frank to choke him out...and then Frank does and $kala spits up on himself when he comes to. Then it took him about a minute to figure out where he was. This Toolbag and his organization are officially circling the bowl. Good thing for him he can walk away and continue to spend his daddy's money.
