Rogers knocks out Arlovski in 22 seconds

There is not much to say about Brett Rogers' 0:22 KO of Andrei Arlovski. Rogers moved in just seconds after the bell, unloaded a bevy of punches onto Arlovski, and the former UFC champ was down on the ground. Every one of Rogers' punches connected, rocking Arlovski's head back and forth until he succumbed.

Before the fight, Arlovski said that his strategy was to listen to the people who trained him.

"Be focused, be smart, and listen to my trainers," Arlovski said. "For this fight, I shut my mouth and did everything they told me."

But if Arlovski was trying not to be too aggressive, as he was in his loss against Fedor Emelianenko, Rogers took advantage of it, and knocked out the former champ.

    FIRST!!! Rogers beat that azz! He automatically gets the winner of Fedor/Barnett. I think Barnett will pull out a win and destroy all of the Fedorphiles. If not Rogers will treat him like he did Andre.

    its cuz andrei got paid 1.5 million for his fight against fedor and cuz of him taking part in that new ultimate soldier movie. all that stuff got to his head and he believes hes some sort of rockstar. hes UNFOCUSED

    Wow...22 seconds...Man Arlovski, what the hell happened? With this win, I wonder who'll they will put against Rogers? I hate to say it, but Arlovski has become the typical gatekeeper. Damn shame really...

    Tom K, you are dreaming if you think there's no one outside the UFC that could hang. Arlovski was a 2x champ. Pretty sure Fedor would hold his own with anyone...would especially love to see him break Brock's arm and then have a challenging submission fight vs. Mir. Umm, Barnett is a former UFC champ as well, and I'm sure he could hang with any of them. And I'm pretty sure Arlovski pwned Congo, so I'd like to see his chin tested against Rogers. Rogers is still really raw so Congo has the experience...but Tom, do your homework before you start talking smack. You watch too much Spike TV, stay educated man.

If you are another one of these morons who thinks the only good fighters are in the UFC, then you're an idiot and don't watch a lot of MMA. Just to name one example: Fedor is not in the UFC and would crush every one of the people in there and Dana White knows it! However, I would love to see the Fedor vs. Frank Mir superfight!! Dana White, let Fedor in to fight in the UFC for at least one fight, you assclown!!!

    Didnt get into the TUF 10 house? He had a [profane] title shot already set up against overeem, and the filming for TUF ten started on monday. Rogers is beyond TUF ten, and people "tom K' who think the UFC is the be all and end all are morons! You need to get out from under the hegemonic spell that is Dana White, and start to realize that just because the UFC gets the most television coverage doesnt mean that the fighters int he UFC are actually the best!

    I called this one. Rogers is a BEAST. I like this guy alot ... I'd like to see him fight again on Affictions' August card and then possibly fight Fedor after he pounds out Barnett. I don't understand how people consider Arlovski a top 5 HW though ... the guy is so predictable and one dimensional ... I saw an infomercial the other night on how to beat him ... money back guarentee for the instructional dvd. Rogers is for real though .. his hands are much quicker than people think.

    Hey Jay and Rico...I love all MMA...I think in other divisions...there are amazing fighters that would hold their own in the UFC...Jake Shields...Shinya Aoki...but not at Heavyweight...and that doesn't include Fedor...I said "these clowns"...Arlovski is a former champ...he was champ at a weak time...Sylvia was a weak champ too...Barnett was champ when the UFC was totally different...and Lesnar is a million times better than you so-called "true" mma fans think...Carwin's even better...and Mir would beat Fedor...Fedor is so unbelievably overrated...he's old news...he's too scared to fight in the UFC anyways...why would he tarnish his legacy by getting massacred like Cro Cop

    And ARLOVSKI is NOT A TOP 10 heavyweight...good lord...just because somebody held the title for 2 seconds when the division was at it's weakest? Get off that...Tim Sylvia is not a TOP heavyweight either! Ancient history!

    Well, the UFC does have the deepest talent pool of any organization. However, that doesn't mean there aren't top guys outside of the UFC. I can name quite a few off the top of my head: Fedor, Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem, Gergard Mousasi, Melvin Manhoef, Nick Diaz, Jake Shields, Babalu, Vitor Belfort, and the list goes on and on.
    I will say that the UFC/WEC has the best fighter in every division , except HW.

    Moore has nothing to do with Andrei's loss,Andrei's chin is the reason he lost this fight. The physiological barrier of getting KO was Andrei's downfall,you could clearly see it with his tentativeness of engaging in the action with Rogers. Bret Rogers just capitalized on it with brutal a left hook followed by straight rights,and lefts that eventually dropped Andrei. I still wouldn't just yet say that Rogers is the real deal with his win over a clearly banged up version of hisself Andrei Arlovski. He needs to fight somebody like Shane Carwin that has just as brutal punching power that he does,and can also take a good solid shot to the chin and not budge.

    Tom K, you lose all credibility when you say that Mir would beat Fedor. No HW in the UFC has the tools to beat Fedor. Lesnar would take Fedor down but then get submitted. Mir would get knocked out. Carwin, Kongo, and Velasquez would all get submitted.
