The rear-naked choke should be treated like a fighter's lethal weapon. Matt Hughes learned his lesson years ago when a crooked cop tried to sue the former UFC champ after he asked him to apply the hold.
This week it was Randy Couture and Alan Belcher showing off their technique. Couture took one second to get the submission on the meaty-breasted Jim Norton from the Opie and Anthony Show. Meanwhile, Belcher couldn't get the tap from his infant daughter.

Couture isn't going to win another belt and Toney (if he wins) could always fight again in MMA. A quick win by either won't say much about the boxing v. MMA debate. No matter who wins, the defenders of their respective sports will say the loser is over the hill or that it was a fluke. If James Toney were fighting someone like Junior Dos Santos or Cain Velasquez, I don't think the pre-fight speculation would be the same at all.
I don't think Dana would have signed him if Toney was using the preparation for an MMA match to sell a boxing fight. What would a no show say to the boxing world?
