It's Couture in the Cage III tonight as Kim Couture steps into action at Strikeforce in San Jose. Her husband Randy lost his UFC heavyweight title last weekend to Brock Lesnar at UFC 91. The week before Randy's son Ryan won an amateur fight in Washington. Kim goes for her first professional win against Lina Kvokov.

Couture says she's come a long way since her brutal loss to Kim Rose back in June:

"Honestly it was the best thing that couldn't happened in my career. Now i kind of feel like a caged tiger. I want to go in there and impose my will."

Couture mentioned that she was screwed from the start of the fight when Rose cracked her with a huge right hand that had her on queer street for the remainder of the fight. She never got her equillibrium back.

If anything, she's resilient. Couture has that in common with her husband, who she says hasn't once mentioned retirement since the loss to Lesnar. UFC color analyst Joe Rogan painted a picture of doom in the cage last Saturday implying that it could be the end of the road for the 45-year old.

"I don't even know where that came from," said Couture. "I thought he did a fantastic job. He stuck to the gameplan and controlled him that first round. There were a couple of times he had him up and was ready to dump him on his head which I think would've had a big impact on that fight."

Click below to listen to Couture talk about her career and husband Randy (ESPNRadio1100 w/Cofield & Cokin):

Lesnar won the fight in devastating fashion but Couture, just like her husband, is still unwilling to give him too much credit:

"I gained a new appreciation for how big he is. It's definitely going to play in his favor. If he's smart and keeps working at it, putting that skill behind that, it's gonna be a big advantage. (Randy) said he didn't feel too strong or too heavy. I'd love to see the rematch."

Couture talked about the way Lesnar handled himself after the victory. She feared that he would act like a jackass but he didn't. There were also no complaints behind the scenes about Lesnar grabbing the cage on a few occasions or throwing illegal hammerfists to the back of Randy's head.

Couture did get into the Gina Carano to the WEC story as well.

"I think she's definitely interested. I think that would be fantastic. It would be a big draw. She realizes that the interest is there to see her fight Cyborg. There's no other options (aside from WEC)."

Couture did mention Strikeforce but it sounded like the lack of live television aside from HDNet would hurt Strikeforce's chances to land Carano. No surprise, Couture did not throw out Affliction as a possibility for Carano.

it's not so much her sticking up for Randy that eerks me; as much the fact that she seems like a know-it-all, sore loser type. She always has something to say about something; u know how some people talk just for the sake of talking? In this instance- she said something about thinking Randy controlled the first round of his fight with Lesnar... but the judges unanimously and convincingly gave it to Lesnar. And Randy supposedly said that he doesn't feel that strong or heavy... after the guy KO'd him? If that's true- then Randy's admitting he has a glass jaw, and isn't nearly as tough as his hype says. Why can't he talk for himself anyway... what kind of man is he? And she feels like a "caged tiger" and can't wait to "impose her will"? Shouldn't u at least have 1 win on ur record before ur allowed to talk like that? That's how she annoys me, and why I'd love to see Carano shut her up.

    chano-
Nog submits Mir, then goes on to beat Lesnar for undisputed UFC HvyWt title
    W. Silva over Rampage- I think Rampage's time is over... too much going on outside the cage. Stardom has ruined him for me. Silva's been on the verge of main event status for a while now... I think he's hungrier.
Evans vs. Griffin- toss-up decision in a classic battle; this fight alone should be worth the price of the ppv. Evans seems more skilled all around; but Griffin has immeasurable heart.

Nog beats Mir......hoping a knock out i can't stand Mir anymore!
    W. Silva I feel has much more power behind his punches plus Silva already beat Rampage in Pride if I'm not mistaken?
Griffin wins by knockout, tougher chin than Liddell much more heart and desire!

Jay......I agree with her "stand by her man" attitude.....that's all good. Except when it blinds her ability to see or tell the truth. And your right on with her smack talk - for someone with no "w 's" she is pretty sure of herself. Lol.....I seem to remember she was a little mouthy before she had her jaw broken too!
Her remarks reflect poorly on Randy too.Who wears the pants in that family anyways?

that's kinda what I was wondering James. Clearly, Randy is not the head of that household. Hopefully he at least gets to wear the (sweat)pants to bed (I'd much rather see her briefs than Randy's). And no offense to the women, this is not a sexist or disrespectful remark... but the man is supposed to be in charge of his home... especially when it's a home HE provided, and she'd have nothing without him. Maybe she doesn't realize how bad she makes him look? Then again, I'd be perfectly happy being Gina Carano's bi*ch... maybe he feels the same way about Kim.

Unfortunately, looks like Tonya Evinger beat me to it...

    chano-
Nog wins decision over Mir. I think Mir will keep it standing as long as he can and will even have success in the first 2 rounds but will lose the next 3, getting taken down but avoiding the submission.
    W. Silva over Rampage, TKO 2nd- I think Rampage's will try and be patient and counter punch with training at the Lair, but eventually will want to trade and will get caught.
Evans vs. Griffin- I worry the fight won't live up to how good it looks on paper. I think Evens will look to counter punch and Forrest may be too hesitant in his first title defense. Kinda like he was with Tito in the first round. Hopefully after he takes a couple shots he wakes up and gets after it. I'll go decision Forrest 3-2.

Why did everyone click on a link to read an interview from Kim Couture, then complain about reading an interview with Kim Couture? You can't say she needs to shutup if you're reading the article, you made the conscious desicion to click the link. If you don't care what she has to say, then don't read it.

Randy, you we're the man, and still are the man. But put a leash on your woman, she doesn't know the first thing about MMA, and needs to just shut her pie hole. Wasn't she the same person that said Brock was going to get destroyed by Randy----Wrong, saying Brock had no skills-----Wrong, saying Randy would demolish Brock because of his experience and conditioning----Wrong again. Shut up, I hope you fight Gina Carrano, and she tears you up like Brock tore up Randy!!!!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH!!!

was she watching the same fight? but I do agree with her on one thing though.. her getting blasted in the first few seconds of her "fight" was the best thing that could happen to her.....
