UFC turns on the pub machine this and next week. With Lorenzo Fertitta on board in a full-time capacity, there's definitely been an increase in the amount of radio and television being done.

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell spoke on several radio shows on Wednesday. One of the best sports shows in the country is done by Dan LeBetard at the 790 The Ticket in Miami. There wasn't a whole lot of hardcore mixed martial arts talk but the guys did find out that Liddell was slightly distracted during the conversation. 'The Iceman' was getting his toenails done at the time.

LeBetard's sidekick Stugotz then asked if Liddelll was drinking during the interview (3:40 mark).

CLICK BELOW TO LISTEN TO THE LIDDELL INTERVIEW (790 The Ticket):

LeBetard and Liddell also spoke at length about Chuck's famous episode on a Dallas television morning show. Liddell was groggy during a March 2007 appearance after taking a combination of sleeping pills and cold medicine.

The show did a good job of trying to get Liddell to comment on Kimbo Slice, Brock Lesnar, Quinton Jackson and Ken Shamrock. Liddell wouldn't bite and had nothing but nice things to say about those guys.

Liddell is always a wacky guy to interview. If you hit the right buttons, he's one of the best interviews in the UFC. If you ask lame, obvious questions then he loses interest quickly.

Never heard LeBastard's show, but he's terrible on television. He sucks sucks sucks on PTI. He's nothing more than a hanger-on and apologist for athletes.
Of course, we all know PTI is nothing more than a vehicle for Mr. Tony, and everyone else is a pale imitation.

uhh, no. Liddell is pretty much known as the guy with crazy angles and unorthodox punching. Read any write-up on him or watch any interview with fighters talking about him. Watch highlights; his wins over randleman and belfort come to mind...both dropped with huge, wild haymaker-hooks.
I'm no chuck fan at all, by the way. But I also don't feel the need to critique an ex-champion's "decline" because I boxed for 2 months.

Can't see Evans being able to take Chuck down. Can't see him submitting him either. Only way I see Evans beating Chuck is if he KO's him. Evans is Jardines training partner so maybe they got part of Chucks number but Evans is an under achiever, athletic, skilled, who just can't win the big one . Chuck is an old on his way out great one. I will go with Chuck.

I agree with Unwrecked. Chuck is not as crisp or quick with his punches. I definitely think he's lost some of this knock power. His movement isn't is fluid either. Which is completely understandable since he's almost 39 years old. Evans will win a decisive decision.

I agree also that Chuck has dropped off a bit, and some fighters might begin to exploit him, however I don’t think it will be Evans. Evans was unimpressive against Bisping, he couldn’t take Bisping down and keep him down. So I question if he’ll be able to take and keep Chuck down. If he can’t, it will be a stand-up battle, and Evans should not beat Chuck in the stand-up. On paper this should amount to a stand-up battle. The only way I can see Chuck losing in the stand-up is if he remains completely un-aggressive, like he was against Jardine. Besides that, regarding the stand-up, it’s Chucks fight to lose.

If Evans doesn't use his kicks to keep distance and throw off Chucks timing it will be a quick match. Two things Evans needs to do: (1) Use his kicks effectively to keep distance and throw off Chucks timing (2) DO NOT allow Chuck to lead with his left leg and circle to the left
If he does these two things we are in for a great fight. If Evans takes away the left leg he can exploit Chucks injurys and make take downs much easier; if not its gonna be nighty night Mr. Evans.

2 months, 12 years...we are all expert strikers and fighters online. Insisting on displaying one's credentials on a blog is laughable, and I've seen you do it several times.
And no, an overhand right is an overhand right. A haymaker is when you throw 12 spaghetti-arm punches in a row, like I have seen Chuck do many times.
And for the record, I have taken jiu-jitsu and muay-thai for 2 ye...I mean 20 years.

Evans trains with Keith Jardine and I'm sure leg kicks will come early and often. I would hope Chuck realizes that after the Jardine fight, it was apparent that kicks throw him out of his element. Who knows....maybe we see the ice man grab a kick and take someone down....that would be shocking.

Another thing to remeber is "Chuck is a newly wed." New bride = loss of power in any mathematical equation. Or you could go with: Loss of sharp punches + New chick yapping in my ear about quality time + almost 40 with multiple injuries = Loss of power. I just thought that I should bring up that point.

I also think this will be a close fight. But I think Chuck will win. Can someone tell me a Evans fight that I could go watch where I would be impressed. He had a shot @ Tito; if Tito doesn't hold on to the fence Evans loses that fight instead of a tie. The Bisping fight....boring and unimpressive as hell.
The kid has got speed in his favor... but I think Chuck has got that fire in his eyes(especially if Rampage is out of the picture).LOL.

no, chuck is not "one of the best interviews in the UFC" He isn't dan henderson, who is probably one of the dullest in any sport, but he does tend to say the same things every time.
if you want a good interview, give rampage, frank mir, or mayhem miller
    a call
chances are that chuck will bead rashad and get a title shot against forrest next, even though i personally don't think he deserves one just yet. We all know it is all about business and chuck can still put people in the seats.
He is lucky that forrest got past rampage, because i really think rampage has his number and that he would lose to rampage 10/10 times.

Yes, training makes you have more stamina. You know what helps you train harder? Steroids.
My feelings that 90% of all athletes are juicing is not out of jealousy; rather out of an attempt to be as realistic as possible. Jim Hasslet was on the 70s Steelers, and he said almost all his teammates were juicing. That was over 30 years ago. You think the problem has gotten better, or worse since then? I graduated High School in the 90s, and I knew a ton of kids on juice. You think people stop juicing if they have a chance to go pro in some endeavor?
I don't care about people juicing, by the way. My thoughts that everyone juices is just my two cents.
Chuck over Evans, then immediately gets a title shot because Dana White wants to kiss him on the mouth.

It figures , Cofield headlines with " drinking" as his main point. Chuck wasn't accused of drinking but asked if he was having one during his pedicure. I think Cofield should write for a rag-mag. He posts a lot of blogs but seems to focus on the dirt such as making fun of Tito's kid. All i need to do is look at the blog's headline and i know if it is written by Cofield or not. Try blogging less and write about real fighting news or switch to a tabloid and HACK away to your hearts content.

I don't agree with using ROIDS unless under a Physician's guidance for a specific medical issue. I've debated this issue with UNWRECKED for a couple days already and I feel if It's outlawed in a particular sport those who get busted using should pay the consequences, whatever they may be.
I beleive Liddell will win with some unorthodox right hand landing on Evans chin. I'll be pulling for Evans but I don't think it's his time yet. I'm not sure either one of them can beat Griffin.

Chuck will be champ again before he retires. He will knock out Evans and Griffin both. I am not impressed with Evans against Tito. Jardine was able to get a decision with his kicking, but his face did not look like he won. If it does go to a decision because Rashad wants to kick like Jardine, you can bet Chuck will get the decision this time.
Chuck will be Champ, he will fight Jardine again and this time knock him out like Wandy. This is my prediction Chuck fan or not. He will also fight Wandy again. He has two more years to whip some A**!

Saying wandy gave chuck a 'pass'? Come on. He got beat. I'd watch a rematch. Chuck is definitely on the downhill slope. Happens to all of us. Still think he has a better than even shot against all mentioned but rampage for another 18 months (I hope). However, the best way to find out is to fight. Won't be whining if chucky's age catches up with him.

I think if Rashad sets up his shots well he'll be able to take Chuck down and hold him there. Much like Rampage did in their first fight. As Unwrecked said I think Rashad's athleticism and quickness will give Chuck a hard time.

    Fart,
You are saying Chuck throws , "Haymakers" over the top. In the TUF series as a coach, He was teaching the other guys how to do it. I'm not sure but my memory is telling me he showed Matt Sera. Didn't Sera knock out GSP with that punch. Anyway....his overhand right , although waay overhand.....is a punch he uses regularly, not one he throws out of nowwhere.
and Chuck is getting older and his "stand-up" is not as good. I think Machita would pick him apart in between laps around the ring.....but Dana would never allow that fight!

    Unwrecked,
Very technical, but Chuck is going to knock Evans out. Period. He is hungry and wants a title shot. There has been nothing in any of Evans fights that leads me to believe he has improved so much that he can exchange with Liddel. If he takes him down, Chuck will get up with his retard strength. If Couture cant keep him down, Evans is not. I look for his strategy to be similar to Jardine's. This time it wont work.
Chuck with a 3rd round tko or a decision!
