Dana White can juggle three or four wars at a time so why not add another to his fight against Herschel Walker, Quinton Jackson, Bob Arum and Showtime? FOX and The Simpsons are jumping on board, sort of. The long running cartoon series features an anti-MMA episode:

When the male population of Springfield becomes obsessed with Mixed Martial Arts, Marge and some friends organize a protest. A MMA show promoter gets wind of Marge's protest and challenges her to a match and agrees to shut down the show if Marge wins.

The story comes via Cage Potato where they bash The Simpsons saying it's a show that jumped the shark. Has it? Family Guy is awesome but isn't there a place for good ole Homer and the gang anymore?

The Simpsons has run its course as a show. But, it still must make a profit or Fox wouldn't keep it on.

Could there be anything more mainstream than the Simpson, its part of the daily pop culture, so I would say that MMA on this shows means its here to stay.
I wonder who the promoter would be... maybe Dana ?
    Fedor vs The Duffman..oh yeah

That's the problem, there is always room for "good old Homer". But the Homer and the rest of the gang for the last decade? Go away. It's had very few funny moments in near recent memory, and is way too much about winking before every joke.

People still watch the Simpsons? They don't get their fill of stupidity from South Park and Family Guy? Hmmm, well maybe attacking MMA will vault the Simpsons back into relevance - and then again, maybe not. "Family Guy is awesome" - hey, there's a reason those HULU commercials showing peoples' brains being rotted always have then watching Family Guy.

This sort of sounds like the episode where Marge is against violence in Itchy and Scratchy. I very much doubt Matt Groening et al are against MMA. If anything this is recognition that MMA is now mainstream.

It doesn't sound like much of an attack on MMA, more like a shot at the people against it.
I guess we will have to see how it ends to really be able to tell, perhaps Marge will gain a better understanding of the sport once she participates? hmm....

The Simpsons has been turned into a platform for its creators' liberal political views in the past few years. It's totally unwatchable in its current state- its not funny, its smug, arrogant, and self congratulatory. Who cares what they think, they're wrong about everything else, why wouldnt they be wrong about MMA.

The Simpsons have run out of material as has Family Guy. All these shows have left are guest appearances and recycled jokes.

None of this means that it is a real Anti-MMA episode....anyway, it does mean that the popularity of MMA is being noticed more by the world.

If Cofield had spun this article in the other direction, about the Simpsons doing a positive show about the MMA, I'm guessing most people here would be saying how great the show is. I'm pretty sure #5 has it right. The show may not be 100% pro-MMA, but I doubt it will be attacking the sport.

Family Guy=the opposite of "awesome." The Simpsons isn't as good as it once was, but it's still better than Family Guy. The reason The Simpsons isn't as good as it once was is that it's pretty hard to stay the best for 20+ years.

Who cares? The Simspsons hasn't been funny in almost a decade. It should been cancelled 8 years ago. It's just too bad a crap show like Family Guy can be raised from the dead by the idiotic fandom of 16-25 year-old manboys along with a night of Seth McFarlane garbage shows since Fox can't create anything better for Sundays.
