With Ultimate Fight Night 19 and UFC 103 happening within four days and 200 miles of each other, you have a chance to take a short vacation and catch 23 UFC fights.
Tuesday or Wednesday: Fly into Dallas. Since it's a much bigger airport than Oklahoma City, you can get a much cheaper deal flying into Dallas. You'll need to rent a car anyway, so you may as well save on your airfare. As soon as you get to Dallas, head up I-35 to Oklahoma City.
Wednesday night: Ultimate Fight Night 19 at the Cox Center in downtown Oklahoma City, featuring Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard and Gray Maynard vs. Roger Huerta. Before and after, head to Bricktown for dinner and drinks. I highly recommend Zio's for yummy Italian, and you can find plenty of nightlife options in Bricktown.
Thursday: You can use this day to explore Oklahoma, which can be interesting and fun. If you stay in OKC, I strongly encourage you to check out the Oklahoma City National Memorial, which honors the victims of the 1995 Alfred P. Murraugh Federal Building. Also, don't forget about the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
You can also take the hour drive up to Stillwater, Okla., the home of Oklahoma State University, one of the best wrestling schools in the country and the alma mater of fighters Randy Couture, Don Frye, Mark Munoz, Johny Hendricks and Mo Lawal. Check out the school and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame to learn the history of a sport so integral to MMA. For dining options, go to Red Rock Bakery and Deli or Eskimo Joe's.
Friday: Take the trip back down I-35 to Dallas. It should take just over three hours, and you can count the oil rigs along the way. Weigh-ins usually start around 4 p.m. Central Time, and if you're a Fight Club member, you can go to the Q and A before weigh-ins. Afterwards, grab dinner at Craft, Palomino or the always dependable Hooters, restaurants that are all close to the arena.
Saturday: Conspiracy theorists and history buffs should check out the Sixth Floor Museum, the museum dedicated to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Those seeking a less academic attraction should head to Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park. The undercard is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. CT for UFC 103.
On Sunday, recover and head home, amazed at the fact that you saw so many fights in such a short time.

I'd probably rather drive to Austin all day Thursday and check out the night scene (football weekend v. Texas Tech and one of the best music scenes in the country).
Then drive the 3 hours back to Dallas on Friday for Q/A and weigh-ins, then off to Arlington (30 minute drive) for Rangers-Angels that night.

And think about it.
If she didn't do this for a living, where would you have to go to complain about others doing their job?
I'd bet you are the kind of guy that complains about service at McDonald's too.

Travel blog or not I thought it was good -- and the fact that maggie eats at hooters is kinda coolk.

I really have to wonder why there are so many haters that always post in here.
Just think, if anime ever develops a MMA circuit, there will be a lot of happy little dorks in the world.
Maybe happy enough to stop al the hating.
And balls, that has to be the most incoherent post ever.

As for stuff to do in OK...You can tip the hell out of some cows. I would definitely head straight back to Texas the morning after UFN.
As for the haters of this post, I think it was actually a nice catch. I'm a little surprised UFC wasn't (are they?) selling weekend/travel packages for the two events to the Fight Club members.
Keep it up, Maggie...if you see another two events in close proximity, keep us posted. As much as I like MMA, it's tough for me to justify making a trip and spending all that money for one card. If I can catch two cards in one trip, now we're getting somewhere.

Either that or he is trying to master the English language and this is his grade school homework.
I would also agree TX would be a better 4 day jaunt then 3 TX and 1 OK, but I guess the outhouse and cow tippers might find OK just that interesting.
With travel prices the way they are, and hotels looking for business, someone could have the ultimate MMA/UFC weekend for far less than 1 weekend in Vegas for 1 UFC fight.
