Cagewriter - UFC

Everyone is a little different during their downtime between trips into the Octagon or cage. Chuck Liddell and Urijah Faber, two great former champs, have been sidelined for months. Liddell just finished his stint on with "Dancing With The Stars." so he decided to test his new found fame with another trip to see Los Angeles' metal legends Steel Panther. He's hanging with his buddy MLB pitcher Brad Penny and his DWTS castmate, Karina Smirnoff. Looks like the wide awake "Iceberg" is back on energy drink.

Meanwhile, Faber has been building his online empire, and apparantly took an arts and crafts class. The picture on the right is a Mike Brown pinata. Brown is the dude who took away Faber's WEC featherweight title belt. The Floridian's head is also what put Faber on the sideline with a broken hand. Even with his hand on the mend, I bet you Faber can put his mitt right through the Mike Brown pinata's skull.

There's now rumor of Liddell returning to the UFC in March. Faber is looking to return in January after surgery on both hands.

Faber the golden boy having a little sour grapes? Hmm. I hope they give chuck Mark Coleman or another slow tomato can-type, cause I'd hate to see him flat on the canvas again.

I heard Brown is heading to the UFC at 155 if he beats Aldo. I give Brown a good chance of beating Aldo, he'll wear him out and take the decision.

I'm just curious to see if Liddell still has it or not,I heard a rumor that he might fighting Kimbo Slice, but that's just a rumor. That would be a huge ppv draw,Dana White is seeing dollar signs if he makes that one happen. What does everybody think?

Can we please stop it with Chuck Liddell's social life? I'm not sure any of us really care at this point.
Unless you find him banging Jenna Jameson in the back of Tito Ortiz's car...
...You know what? I don't even care if you find him banging Jenna in Tito's car.
Faber really has a Mike Brown pinata? Jeez...it's not like Faber got Varnered or anything. He got beaten soundly twice.

Faber will never see the belt again after Aldo gets his hands on it. Aldo will beat Brown in brutal fashion.

I think Cofield either has a crush on Chuck or he wants to be like Chuck. After I typed this though, I started to think that maybe he likes the Fedor penis pump more than Chuck and all of the poo tang he gets. I swear Cofield is like a little kid.

didn't someone refer to him as iceberg because of how he let himself balloon up for awhile after losing to shogun? i thought it was a knock on his boyish figure.

Chuck, please stay out of the Octagon. One more left hook and you'll end up in a wheelchair looking like Tim Sylvia. Here's an idea, Chuck: run a gym. Do UFC promotions. Take acting lessons. Do anything else other than step back in the cage. Your one-punch magic won't help you anymore.

If Chuck wants to fight again put him in the 'Gon with Tito again. Tito says he's healthier than he has been in years. If he beats Chuck then Chuck should definitely retire. If Chuck wins he should still retire. It would be a good measure for Tito. That's about it. The Iceman is washed up.

I have inside information that Chuck is going to get an easy opponent that will make him look good. They want to set up a superfight Chuck vs Tito fight for next summer. Which will, despite calls for retirement and such likely be the biggest match in history, as they both still outdraw everyone except Lesnar and Kimbo.

Steven W. Man your hilarious dude. Seriously though what do you think about a match up between Chuck and Slice. I think it would be a pretty awesome fight, and would draw some big ppv numbers.

of course i'd watch it, but it definitely wouldn't get my blood going or anything......but sadly enough, and i mentioned this on another thread, i do believe that matchup will eventually happen. in my opinion, chuck needs to go to heavyweight if he wants to keep fighting. and boy dana would LOVE to promote that one because fanboys like you would eat it up. but that's cool man, i can't say i wouldn't watch whatever card it's on because i know i will. and hey, what better way to finish two careers than by going out on what could be the ufc's biggest fight in history? maybe they'll save that one for the network deal. wow, it's a grim picture i've painted....how did we get here?

Why such derision aimed at Mike Brown. He has looked spectacular in his last several fights. I see no reason to believe that he will perform poorly against Aldo. American Top Team down in South Florida has a great camp, coaches, fighters, etc. Brown’s work ethic is as good as it gets. And he is very well rounded. I just don’t see why everyone is so down on the guy. His skills are solid. And he has a good personality to accompany his status as a champion. I hope he reigns for a long time.

Liddell and Slice? Biggest fight in UFC history? I politely disagree. By the time that fight was scheduled, I think the world will realize that Kimbo is just a brawler, nice guy and all, but just a brawler. Hopefully, they'll also wake up to the fact that Liddell can't fight any more. His chin isn't there. Sure he can still throw bombs, but an overhand right followed by a left hook and he will be out, again. Kimbo can do promo ads on Spike and Liddell can become a fight analyst for Ultimate Fight Night. Neither one has a future in the fUFC as a fighter who could take the belt.

BNG i think you're giving the general public WAY too much credit here. maybe the part you missed is that i eluded to the possibility of that fight being aired on whatever major network deal the ufc will eventually end up getting.....all the signs are there. they're not going to give up on kimbo just yet, he could still be a major draw. when the masses think ufc (because they don't think mma do they?) which faces do you think they see in their head? maybe not in this order, but chuck liddell, brock lesnar, dana white, maybe gsp...and now kimbo slice. you put a chuck/kimbo fight on a major network in a prime time slot.......and you're telling me that wouldn't be the biggest in ufc history? there have been plenty of people in the know to elude to chuck fighting at heavyweight, and i see it that if he has any chance at avoiding getting ko'd every time in the cage he needs to fight the big guys....granted he'll still go to sleep eventually but white could also see the opportunity to actually allow chuck to look good again by beating kimbo slice in front of the world.....if kimbo wins, even better for white and the ufc because that'll extend kimbo's worth for a few more piles of cash. granted, near any marquee name matchup aired on a major network would be the biggest in history, but i think that's the one the public would be the most interested in.....not mma fans......the public....politely, i might add.
