Cagewriter - UFC

It's not going come overnight. Ryan Bader has an excellent wrestling pedigree after a decorated career at Arizona State, but he's trying to add all of the other elements of MMA. the Ultimate fighter 8 champ faced a dangerous submission fighter in Eric Schafer and was very dominant at times. Bader, who clearly wanted to stand for much of the fight, scored a unanimous decision (29-26 an 30-27 on two cards) victory in the second fight televised during the Spike freeview.

Bader, 25, dropped Schafer with a huge overhand right just two and half minutes into the fight. From there he mauled Schafer on the ground for the next 90 seconds. Referee Josh Rosenthal watched closely the entire but gave the veteran Schafer a chance to hold. He did so but lost the first round 10-8 on Cagewriter's card. Bader looked a bit winded in the second and was outpaced in a round that featured all stand up. Bader sealed the fight in the third by again planting Schafer with an overhand right with 4:18 left in the fight.

Bader (10-0, 3-0 UFC) could probably crush most low and mid-level light heavyweights by just wrestling, but he's using the right approach as he works his way up the ladder. Bader's still get sloppy at times throwing both fists at the same time and ignoring his jab but it's clear he's got a dangerous right hand with huge power. It was the same punch he landed on Vinny Magalhaes to essentially end the TUF 8 Finale.

The whole night was ruined by Machida lack of wanting to get knocked out! Black eye on the UFC and this is just when I was telling a group of guys that boxing was not as good as the UFC. I was the guy who ended up along with Machida with egg on my face!! UFC waste of money! Stick with the American style agressive knock you out style. Stay away from these two type of fighters vs. each another!!

pathetic display of mma skills in the octagon. to lay on your opponent to hang on to a decision win in the octagon is a disgrace. he took red down and layed on him for the final 45 seconds of the fight. bader's middle name should be "Gas". muscled up physique equals GAS FEST. not sure why the UFC hypes bader up so much.
11 & 0 up against no talent. he will surely have to put up against some talent soon because everyone is on to the fact that he is wrestling, hugging, and laying his way to his victories. I see bader getting his block knocked off or an arm taken off in the near future.
    bader's skills:
    - haymakers
    - takedowns
    - lay on opponent
    - take oppenents back & hug
    - dance around octagon sucking wind in wide open mouth
    - gassing in first round
