The weekend's action with the huge wins by Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko really has the MMA world buzzing about who is the world's best. Georges St. Pierre and B.J. Penn are certainly in the discussion, they were No. 2 and 3 respectively in the latest Yahoo! Sports MMA Top 10 rankings. GSP's lofty ranking has people dreaming of a Silva fight against the French-Canadian. Silva's manager Ed Soares told Larry Pepe of ProMMARadio that's silly:
"That’s sound great, I think GSP is an incredible fighter. But I think GSP needs to prove himself. He still hasn’t had a successful title defense (at 170 lbs.). I don’t really feel that he deserves (a Silva fight) yet. Go defend your title a few times and then we’ll talk."
Pepe suggested that the probable UFC Middleweight title defense for Silva against Patrick Cote is going to be a tough sell.
"It's going to be an exciting fight. You know Cote isn't going to go to the ground. You know Cote's going to want to stand up and bang. I don't really recall him ever being knocked out. People like to watch people stand-up and go at it. That's what you'll get with putting those guys in the Octagon."

Soares also discussed the future for his light heavyweight title contender Lyoto Machida and what's next for UFC interim heavyweight champ Minotauro Nogueira. Nogueira finished taping the season of The Ultimate Fighter 8 three weeks ago according to Soares, who says the Nogueira-Frank Mir fight would likely come in late-November or December. Did you get your name from what your are always sitting on? I like guys like you who cant make an argument without trying to insult someone. You are not smart enough to give some intelligent feedback! I refuse to have a battle of wits with a one armed man!!
In the last 4 years Chuck has one of the best records against top level competition in the UFC. You dont think the old man has one punch left to KO Silva? Travis Lutter should have beat Silva when he had Silva mounted.
You are an idiot!

Finally some intelligent feedback. I appreciate all you are saying, I think after Chucks performance against The Axe Murderer he has maybe 2 good years left. I also think the UFC will match him favorably in his fights. He should have no problem with Evans since he does good against wrestlers. I do not think Evans will be able to stand and exchange with Chuck. Before he retires I would love to see him fight the Spider.
I think he can counterstrike with the spider and it only takes one punch as we have seen time and time again.
But I appreciate you feedback, unlike that of Thumbs. Thumbs is an idiot!

Also give chuck some credit, you don't see how well rounded he is because his takedown defense is that good. His awkward stance of having his hands low keeps him prepared for that takedown defense at all times while allowing him to strike, which is why he has done so well against ground guys, couture, horn, ortiz, babulu, etc. Unfortunately his stance and style leaves himself very vulnerable to strikers which is why he has struggled so much against good strikers.

The question you should be asking is when will GSP successfully defend his title enough so that he can proclaim dominance over the welterweight division so that he is ready to move up to middleweight.

As for all this p4p crap.. It is fighters that make great fights. Bonnar vs. Griffin was a great fight, it infused the UFC with a lot of new fans.. But no one is going to put Bonnar or Griffin on the p4p list..

Pot: Yes, steriods: No... Maybe for some, Marijuana does have some performance enhancing benefit, but it's all in the mind. Diaz should be able to burn pot anytime. He's probably used to training with it, why not before a fight??
