Former pro wrestler Lashley chokes MMA opponent at presser

Bobby Lashley was a pro wrestler but he didn't employ any WWE antics until Jason Guida's trash-talk sent him over the edge. Guida, who is outsized by four inches and 40 pounds, unloaded some smack on Lashley:

"You've been faking this for how long? Tell'em, let'em know. How long's it been since you trained hard? How long has it been since you squared up against someone who's going to hit you on the chin and not pull a punch?"

Roy Jones Jr. who is boxing on the Saturday "March Badness" card, tried to play peacemaker but was dwarfed by the heavyweights. Lashley smiled until Guida got right in his face, that's when it was go time (3:58 mark):

Guida and Lashley meet in Pensacola, Florida in a mixed martial arts fight. Guida has 36 professional MMA fights on his record. This is just the second pro MMA fight for Lashley, who is making the transition from the fake stuff to the real stuff.

Was about to post this. Lashley pushed Guida away, hardly a choke.
At least Guida doesn't have to worry about making weight and spazzing out on cable tv.

Well said, KJ. What’s funny to me is that this clip lasted 4 minutes. It will take Lashley half that time to destroy Guida. And what does Guida offer, sub's or a KO? Please, he's only there by a fluke.
At least Clay has respect for his opponents. This 'tard is gonna get hurt!!!!!!!!

Is Guida out of his mind he's going to get killed. First off yes Pro wrestling isn't a "real fight" but when it comes to training and conditioning if your a top pro wrestler like Lashley was there's nothing better. Think about it WWE guys have to wrestle 5 times a week some times as long as 30 min. Taking all those falls are not easy on the body and actually condition you for falls in a "real" fight. Plus to top it all off Lashley is a beast on the mat and I hear his striking skills are coming up to par. I can't wait for Lesnar-Lashley Beast vs Beast

This is exactly what MMA doesn;t need... I am getting sick of the theatrics. Nick Diaz last week acting like a the dipsh1t he is and now Guida here. It all starts with the antics on TUF. Dana has allowed dipsh1ts to make names for themselves because of their behavior and it is starting to fall down the ranks to the other fight promotions. Just weigh in, take your pictures, shut your mouths, and use your fists on fight night. It is going to get worse before it gets better and pretty soon MMA will be in the same league as WWE and Jerry Springer. Completely classless.....

Lashley deserves a chance, although I think the last thing we need is a whole parade of Brock Lesnar clones. I do like Lesnar as a fighter, but surely the WWE hasn't become a major source of MMA talent.

I guarantee Lashley will destroy this Turd in less than 5 minutes, the ones that talk all that crap all usually the ones that are scared to death. I look for Lashley to get 3 or 4 fight's in smaller organization,and then Dana White and the UFC will come knocking on his door. Lashley absolutely has the potential just like Lesnar to be something great in mma, with his size,athletic ability, and wrestling pedigree.

Jason Guida is Clay's semi retarded brother. You know you all have one in your family. That slow kid. The one who embarrasses the whole family. The one who cant hold a job, who cant get a girl, has a 17 and 19 record. Not even the UFC gave Brock that easy of a fight for his 2nd fight. Even if it would have been Shamrock. Wait...I missed the choke. I didn't even see a 'scuffle' as reported in the other yahoo article. I guess we'll have to see if this boosts pay-per-view numbers. Someone should have let Bobby know they were going to have a prefight altercation, he couldn't have done a worse acting job than Guida.
