Feud brewing between Sirius and UFC

After dropping bombs on the EliteXC head honchos during his Tuesday UFC 90 video blog, UFC president Dana White turned his attention to radio guy Scott Ferrall. Ferrall, from Sirius Radio, was criiticizing the UFC earlier this week. Ferrall's show was a regular for several UFC events last year and in studio it featured many UFC/WEC guests. Then abruptly Ferrall disappeared from UFC events. White explained why:

"For a while there we were paying Ferrall to come to the shows and cover the UFC fights. He'd talk about (the events) the week before. Then he came back to us saying he wanted more money. I didn't like the way he handled it so we stopped using him."

White didn't stop there as he unloaded on Ferrall for being critical of the UFC:

"Ferrall you (expletive) clown. Just because you're not getting a paycheck anymore now you don't like MMA. You (expletive) goofy crankhead (expletive)."

On Monday, Ferrall had a guest on that he claimed was from Affliction and fired away at the UFC asking if the Brock Lesnar v. Rancy Couture fight will be fixed to allow Lesnar to win. Ferrall pointed to the E60 Lesnar piece as evidence:

"You might as well have called it 'Lesnar's going to be the heavyweight champion once we fix the fight' cause that's their plan."

Click below to listen to Ferrall talk UFC with the 'Affliction T-Shirt Guy - NSFW (Sirius Radio):

Ferrall also suggested that Lesnar is using steroids.

"Do you think that guy's clean? How can anyone be that big?"

Apparently, the rift began late in the summer of 2007. The UFC was advertising with Sirius and an issue arose when Ferrall accepted a job to be the ring announcer at Yamma Pit's sole event. The two sides traded angry word and the UFC ceased working with Ferrall. Oddly though Zuffa-owned WEC continued to work closely with Sirius.

Is White confused? Was the UFC paying Ferrall directly or simply advertising with his employer? These are two distinctly different scenarios. Every sports league has a chance to compromise a media outlet's coverage by using its advertising power. There's no doubt that the NFL uses that power everyday.

Ferral is a fool. I remember when he was doing a show out here in the SF Bay Area. He was out here bad mouthing everyone else when his show got some early good ratings. One of the other radio hosts who had been around for a while handled it by saying, "I'll worry about him when he has been around for a few years." Ferral was gone pretty quickly.

Just another reporter looking down his nose at mma, cuz he can't do anything athletic himself. What's that old saying?- those who can, do... those who can't, report. nice scarf btw, clay...

Where does he come off with the fecking comment about the Couture Lesnar fight setting up for a fix. I don't think there is any money Couture would take to throw that fight. He is a legend and legends don't take dives. And feck Lesnar really wants to prove himself after already being a fake fighter.

Is it just me or does "TShirt Guy" sound a lot like Danny Bonaduce? I think Farrell is putting us on.
I've heard Danny Bonaduce on Howard Stern's show a few times and I'm almost certain that's his voice.

Did this a$$clown really think he was gonna bully Dana into giving him more money. Dana chops heads. Ask Tito or anyone else in MMA that has challenged the throne. He can make or break just about anyone on the sport. Randy pissed and moaned about money and look what happened to him.

Ferrell is a bum who needs to create controversy to exist for another day where ever he goes. He's stupid to cross the UFC if he ever wants to get back into MMA in any shape or form. I don't for a minute that anyone with any credibility would go on air to say dumb comments like that.
From what I've read Dana has maintained he has the utmost respect for Couture despite their differences. I haven't read anywhere that each has talked crap about the other except for the situation itself.

Dana is the common denominator in all of these feuds. By all accounts, he is a tough guy who has trouble working with other organizations. At some point, Dana's control freak attitude will be his downfall.

Ferrall is a clown. He's been fired from every radio job he's had because he sucks. The only reason he got the job at Sirius is because he kneeled infront of Howard Stern. Ferrall back stabs everyone he supposed to be friends with. I hope he loses this job and joins the nations unemployment

They sound drunk and worse, they are making wild speculations, and would just once love to see the puss Ferrell make the steroids comment to lesner (though i would not doubt his wwe days he did, that is not a controlled sport and has taken fire for this before) but saying about him now?? suicide. The Affliction idiots would hush in a second if facing couture............ or get what they wished for him on themselves.
Nothing says tough like hiding behind a mic, except maybe mommies skirt.
