Rashad Evans' "Sugar" persona isn't making him lots of friends amongst MMA fans. He seems to have different personalities in and out of the cage. Once he gets amped up in the Octagon, he's likely to do a little dance, like he did during several fights on The Ultimate Fighter 2 or even grab his crotch and blow a kiss, as he did in his fight against Forrest Griffin. But make no mistake, the guy takes fighting seriously. Evans sat down with ESPNRadio1100 and suggested that there are some fighters who don't. The former light heavyweight champ thinks Michael Bisping is one of those guys. Evans was asked by Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole about Dan Henderson's knockout at UFC 100 (4:44 mark):

"I was actually excited not because I dislike Michael Bisping. It's the fact that I seen him out at the club the week before the fight, and I go up to him and tell him 'dude you got a fight coming up.' And he was like 'what's it to you mate' and he got all mad and salty about it, and he like wanted to fight to me."

Evans also strongly defended what many folks thought was a Henderson cheap shot after Bisping was flat on his back saying you don't stop fighting until the referee stops the fight.

Evans is set to face Quinton Jackson in December as the capper for TUF 10. There's been plenty of heat between the two, including the near brawl cageside at UFC 100. Sugar went into further detail about why he and Rampage can't get along:

"He thinks I crossed the line during the face off. When the UFC has us go up there and do the face off, I think he crossed the line. He started talking to me, I took offense to it. I felt like he was disrespecting my guy. You know that's my brother dude. [Jackson]made it seem like he didn't give it all that he had and that Jardine got lucky."

Evans said Jackson started things at UFC 100 by asking him what he was looking at. TUF 10 debuts on September 16.

Bisping will be fine..Rampage vs Sugar will be a war..I just hope Rampage is playing alot of soccer to learn how to kick a little bit,or atleast use his wrestling that he has abandoned,This isn't boxing..This coming from a Rampage fan..Hendo gets another shot as Anderson now and we all think to ourselves,Will the fighter or the dancer come out of Silva?Plus why are we still talking about what happend at UFC 100?

Bisping's acting like that cuz he's Rampage's boy. TUF will have to do good to hype Evans vs Jackson if it's going to headline a ppv. I don't understand why some UFC ppv's don't have at least one title shot on the card. I know I'm probably not going to buy anymore ppvs that don't have at least one title shot on the line unless it's a mega catchweight fight...and I don't consider Franklin vs Belfort a mega catchweight fight. If Dana is so in tune with his fans, he'll give us a big name on free tv more often...and I don't consider Bisping a big name. I know everyone is going to tell me that the fighters benefit from ppv buys but with the economy the way it is I will understand why more people may stay away from buying the ppvs that don't have a title fight on it. I liked it when they had Rampage vs Hendo title fight on live tv but I don't remember them having any other big fights on free tv recently.

Thats bush league JJ. You need a belt on the line to enjoy a good fight? Don't sound like much of an MMA fan, rather like someone who is more into WWE style stuff. Not saying you aren't an MMA fan or anything (maybe you're a die-hard fan and I just don't know you), but the whole belt situation makes it seem like you could care less about the fight as long as a belt is exchanged afterwards

Evans/Jackson will be a brawl... I loved what Dan did to Bisping... he has done it to others and has never gotten bashed for it. They are just looking to take the heat off Brock's retarded @$$... that dude shouldn't open his mouth until 5 minutes after the fight... Coming off roids makes people do that, but we don't know if that is the case either. Maybe he is just use to Acting out for his WWE fans?

JJ...There are only 5 belts and as many as 12-15 PPVs in a year, and these guys need to rest at some point. In a way, I like it when the main event isn't a title fight. The less rounds they have budgeted means more potential to see undercard KOs and submissions on the PPV. I liked UFC 100, but we got zero undercard on the PPV.
I personally think Belfort-Franklin is going to be a lot of fun. A lot of people have been wanting to see Couture-Noguiera. And the beauty of how they run UFC is that the card under it will surely have some good fights. I'm not extremely excited about 102 since Hamill dropped out, but 103 looks strong top to bottom (Swick-Kampmann, CroCop-Dos Santos, Koscheck-Trigg with a solid undercard).

Rampage vs Evans is going to be a good fight, although a short one. Rampage has only been knocked out by a series of viscous knees ala Wanderlei (Pride Wand), while in Evan's last fight he got KTFO by The Dragon...so I see Rampage shutting Evans lights out again...Oh yeah and Penn's going to kill Kenny!!

U-Mahoo: Not sure I follow your logic as to why this fight will be a short one.
Less than half of Rampage's wins have been by KO. And Rashad Evans goes to decision often. Getting knocked out by Machida is nothing to be ashamed of.
I think it ought to be a good fight, and I see no reason why it wouldn't go the distance.

My favorite fight of 100, and probably for the year. I don't know who won fight of the night at UFC 100, but I would vote for Hendo. Definitely a highlight reel knockout. Easily the best knockout of the year. And what's with all this whining about the "late" hit? If you've watched more than 10 fights you've seen a punch or two land after a knockout. How did Hendo know Bisping wouldn't spring back up after a flash knockout? He was just sealing the deal, like THEY ALL DO. Sure he could have walked away when he saw The Count laying there staring blankly into space, but he had a job to do and he's a dedicated fighter. For as much $h!+ as Bisping talked, and the way he berated and humiliated Hendo's fighters and even Hendo himself during TUF, nobody could deny he had it coming. It's just a shame he didn't feel it - until later.
I just wish there was a way for Rampage AND Evans to lose the same fight. I hope it's a long fight, where they both beat the living crap out of each other for almost the entire three rounds. Then, after both of their eyes are beat shut, one of those rare double knockouts would be sweet.

Kevin M, who said anything about not enjoying anything but title fights??? Try reading my comments more thoroughly before making stupid comments about my "loyalty" to MMA and being a "die-hard MMA fan" and "someone that is more into WWE style stuff". WTF are you talking about??? You sound like a girl gossiping by spinning someone's words. READ MORE CAREFULLY KEVIN M BEFORE STAYING SOMETHING DUMB. I love title and nontitle fights. I'm saying for me personally and some of my friends, a title fight may be harder to pass up in purchasing a ppv financially speaking...And Rob R, if there are 5 titles and fighters typically fight 3 times per year, technically speaking (w/out injuries and a lot of title changing hands), each champion could headline 3 events a year. Well 5 x 3 is 15...so without putting 2 titles on the same ppv, there should be approximately 15 title defenses a year which should be enough to headline most, if not all of the ppvs. And some of the fights are interesting on upcoming cards but seriously, who cares who wins Koscheck/Trigg and Cro Cop/Santos??? And how can I seriously believe that the winner of Swick/Kampmann is a legit contender to GSP??? Kampmann barely beat Condit who was the WEC champ and now you're gonna try to get me to believe that he has a chance with GSP??? And Swick...he just doesn't have enough experience. He's a good fighter much like Kampmann but I don't think he's ready for a title shot either. I would love to watch Franklin vs. Belfort , Maia vs Marquardt, and Couture vs Big Nog (even though I don't know what will be accomplished by the winner of this fight) but me, personally, I can't afford to watch every ppv and my friends don't get them enough so I usually have to pick and choose the ppvs that I buy and typically they have titles on the line..even though I did pay for Franklin vs. Wandy. I would rather have a Franklin vs Wandy or Franklin vs. Belfort on free tv because I don't know if I would pay for Franklin vs Belfort.
Some of you people take this stuff WAYYYY to personal. I make a comment about how I would rather pay money out of my pocket for title fights vs. nontitle fights and all of a sudden, I don't enjoy good fights, I'm not a die-hard MMA fan, and I like the WWE??? I've liked MMA since UFC 1. I used to watch the ppvs when they would come out on VHS..and I mean all of them. I love watching MMA fights regardless of the organization..WEC, Strikeforce, UFC, whatever. I state an opinion and get called "BUSH LEAGUE"??? WTF??? Take it easy people.....

Evans has to come back off of a knockout... we will see how he performs, and where his heart is... Rampage knocked out Wandi and got his revenge. Rampage is determined, but if he lets his hate for Evans get in the way he could lose. I think Rampage is a professional and when he steps in the ring he will focus and take the win... maybe buy KO now that Evans chin has been tested... it will be interesting.

I think this fight will be somewhat boring actually. I do believe these guys don't like each other, but it won't show in the cage. 3 rounds of feeling each other out. Weak decision to Rampage.
JJ: You did make it sound that you were only gonna buy ppv's only when a title is at stake. That's cool, a lot of people share the same mindset. A lot of other people just wanna watch fights period. I myself would pretty much be excited to see 2 senior citizens duke it out in a cage.

it really doesnt matter who else is fighting in the 205 division. Machita will own that division for a long time! it pisses me off when i hear people say he is not an exciting fighter. if u dont find him exciting than u dont understand fighting or mma. he hasnt lost a round in his whole ufc career! or taken damage in oine fight! hes techinically outstanding. he has a mind for fighting. And he has gotten better and better, he can adopt his fight game and style to whoever he faces. he will run over shogun, and the winner of the evans/rampage fight with ease.

    JJ...
All I'm saying is they can't all have title fights. I don't think it's THAT typical for UFC fighters to fight three times in a year. If they do, it's barely. And when titles are involved, there are so many moving parts that fights often fall through or have to wait until other "contendership" type fights are worked out. Then when you consider the number of legitimate main events out there that aren't title fights, why waste a PPV with a title fight and a huge non-title fight unless it's your New Year's or Super Bowl show (or UFC 100)?
If you want them to reduce the number of PPVs they have a year by putting more stuff on free TV, fine. But as long as we keep buying the PPVs, why should they stop? Iole wrote an article a while ago saying boxing promoters were out of touch because they put too many mediocre fights with weak undercards on PPV. But I don't think you have that problem with UFC...I think they have the balance between free and PPV pretty well figured out right now. If they see PPV numbers falling, they'll react. If Spike or a network makes it worth their while to put a blockbuster card on free TV, or if they have a competitor's show to counter, they'll do it then too.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on the quality of UFC 103. Those three fights I listed are absolutely huge for all 6 fighters, they affect the top 5 in their divisions, and they should all be entertaining fights. I agree that Swick is no match for GSP, but it has nothing to do with experience. Swick has 16 fights (2 losses), 10 in UFC (only 1 loss by decision to Okami). If he's not ready not, when will he be? Kampmann could be a tougher out than people give him credit for, and he's coming down from middleweight..

Bisping insulted and mad ( maybe wanting to kick your butt ) because captain obvious pointed out he had a fight coming up? Yeah, he wasn't serious, was he?
If you saw the fight, up until the knockout, it was anybody's game, Mike looked pretty good until he got caught, and he lasted into the 2nd round...How long would you have lasted?
The fact that Hendo chose to put a capper on his sweet knockout punch isn't any different than most fights you see happen in the real world my friend...Adrenaline and frustration combined with a little jaw jacking before hand made for a sweet finish...not a cheap shot.
Any fighter who sees victory happening gets Hyped, Pumped even, anyone in a fight knows that feeling, and emotions take over...The ref did his job, but you could see Hendo was done with Mike before that.
Understand what training happens before a fight, and maybe pick your comments more wisely when you see a fighter relaxing, and enjoying life before his big fight, maybe you won't feel compelled to write articles with biased opinion. " Hey, Good luck on your fight next week " probably would have gotten you a beer, even a " Cheers Mate "...But who wants to read that, right?
