UFC 100 is nigh, so it is time for us to decide the best event of the first 99. For the past few months, Yahoo! Sports has been counting down every single UFC, from the first event on November 12, 1993, to the last one, UFC 99 in Germany on June 13.
Along the way, we've talked about the fighters -- Royce, Randy, Dan, Chuck, Rampage, Anderson, GSP -- and the fights -- Royce vs. Dan, Randy vs. Chuck, Tito vs. Ken -- that have become a part of every fight fans' memory. We've asked you to tell us which fights have been your favorite.
Now, it's time to decide which one of these events was the best. Vote in the poll, and share your memories in the comments. On Friday, we'll crown one event as the best of the best.
UFC 1: The event that started it all. Royce Gracie won a tournament that was meant to decide which discipline of combat sports was the best.
UFC 15: Vitor Belfort was supposed to become the next UFC star, but Randy Couture messed up the UFC's plans with a TKO over Belfort.
UFC 28: Randy Couture won the heavyweight championship from Kevin Randleman, but that wasn't nearly as important as the fact that this was the first event regulated by a state board, and fought using the unified rules.
UFC 34: Matt Hughes, at the time a fresh up-and-comer, won the welterweight championship with a highlight reel slam knockout of Carlos Newton.
UFC 47: Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz's rivalry boiled over in one of the biggest fights of UFC history, to date. Liddell won with a second round knockout.
UFC 57: Liddell's star continued to rise with a knockout of Couture in the fight that was worked up to by both men starring as coaches on the then-new reality series, "The Ultimate Fighter."
UFC 64: Anderson Silva began his championship reign with a dominating win over Rich Franklin.
UFC 68: Randy Couture beat Tim Sylvia for the UFC heavyweight title in front of a raucous, packed house in Columbus, Ohio.
UFC 74: Couture defied Father Time with a win over Gabriel Gonzaga, and GSP won a unanimous decision over Josh Koscheck.
UFC 79: In a matchup that MMA fans wanted for years, Liddell won a war over Wanderlei Silva.
UFC 87: Brock Lesnar, a WWE star, won his fight over Heath Herring, setting up a title shot for Lesnar.
UFC 92: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Frank Mir and Rashad Evans were the winners from a jam-packed night of fights.
