L.C. Davis is a rough customer. If you can't stay off your back, you're in for a long night. Davis manhandled unbeaten Diego Nunes scoring a unanimous decision victory 30-26 on all cards in a featherweight fight. Nunes was docked a point in the final round for holding onto the fence.
Davis (15-2, 2-0 WEC) set the tone in the second round when he landed a big knee out of a Thai clinch and then five-punch combination. Nunes was rocked at that point. Davis eventually caught Nunes in a guillotine choke later in the round which he took to the ground. Davis let it go but Nunes was gassed and could barely stand at the end of the round.
In the previous fight, WEC veteran Cub Swanson (14-3, 5-2 WEC) locked horns with youngster John Franchi. The 24-year-old gave him a run for his money but finally ran out of steam in the final 20 seconds of the fight. Swanson slapped on a guillotine choke. Swanson (pictured kicking) screamed in the air as he squeezed with all his might. Franchi (5-2, 1-2 WEC) held out for nearly 10 seconds but had to tape at 4:50 of third round.
