The news and rumors are flying fast and furiously surrounding Brock Lesnar's withdrawal from his UFC 106 fight against Shane Carwin. With the Twitter era upon us, news changes in minutes. Carwin tweeted just a few minutes ago that he's been told by his manager Jason Genet that the fight is re-scheduled for UFC 108 on Jan. 2.

Interesting that Carwin says it was the swine flu that struck Lesnar. Yahoo! Sports Kevin Iole first reported that Lesnar had to pull out of his Nov. 21 fight against Shane Carwin.
At UFC.com, Tom Gerbasi writes:
heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has withdrawn from his UFC 106 main event title defense against unbeaten Shane Carwin due to an illness that has forced him out of training camp for nearly a month. The UFC hopes to re-schedule the bout for early 2010. Stepping up into the main event slot will be the highly-anticipated rematch between former light heavyweight champions Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin.
Carwin tweeted earlier in the hour that he was disappointed that he hadn't originally heard the news from anyone at the UFC.

I just cannot believe it. Good thing it was broke to the media first, poor Shane would still be training his heart out for the fight.
Professional Entertainment business here you come.
I am really hoping Strikeforce lives up to the hype and can build a following from it. The UFC and it's antics as of late are getting so tiresome.
Now pull this post like you have done to all my others.

Quick turnaround for them...but they could do it. "How badly do you want to fight for the belt?"

ppl, just because kevin iole reported it doesn't mean its the truth... you mean to tell me he's never been wrong or jumped the gun (remember cro cop)?
whats wrong with the ufc taking due diligence with this? i'm sure announcing that the fight is off, is gonnal hurt prospects for the card so why not try to find suitable options to counter the big blow?
i guess nowadays if ppl don't have to someone/something to hate/bich about then life is pointless... relax, its a business, and don't worry, i'm sure shane will be okay.... but i do find it interesting he's "training his a$$ off " but still following all the drudge on the net.....
